6. if necessary in conjunction with a coupling link or D shackle Ensure that all attachments have been tested and are of the correct tonnage Make sure that coupling links and shackles are large enough to allow the clamp to move freely in the hook 24 GUNNEBO SH LIFTING Check whether the clamp has any visible damage Remove any grease dirt and mill scale from the barrel drum at the site of the lifting clamp Open the clamp Place the jaws as far as they will go over the barrel drum making sure that the clamp is positioned so as to balance the load when it is being lifted Lift gently so that the lifting force can be applied check whether the clamp is rotating or tilting If the clamp is rotating or tilting read the fore mentioned remarks on lifting again Ensure that the load is in a stable position yst Bug If you are using a clamp please observe the following additional inspection duties Check the cam and the frame for clearly visible signs of wear and or damage Also check the lock spring When pressing the cam the draw spring should demonstrate visible tensile elasticity Lifting with CDV clamps Correctly position the clamp on the rim of the drum in such a way that the toothed segment grips underneath the drum rim The clamp should remain on the drum rim in pretensioned position Lifting force may now be applied When the load has reached its destination lower the crane hook until the clamp is fully unloaded T
