ATHENA qa Bl VI a A SI D ISTRUZIONI DI MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS CYLINDER KIT O INSTRUCTIONS DE MONTAGE KIT CYLINDRE ALESAGGIO CORSA CILINDRATA RAPPORTO DI COMPRESSIONE ISTRUZIONI DI MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO KAWASAKI KX 125 LC Athena vi ringrazia per la preferenza accordatale rimane comunque sempre a disposizione per rispondere alle vostre esigenze Buon lavoro IMPORTANTE SE LA TESTA CILINDRO MONTA O RING SOSTITUISCILI CON GLI O RING PRESENTI NEL KIT SE INVECE LA TESTA CILINDRO MONTA UNA GUARNI ZIONE LAMELLARE SOSTUTISCILA CON LA GUARNIZIONE LAMELLARE PRESENTE NEL KIT NON MONTARE TIPI DIFFERENTI DI GUARNIZIONI DA QUELLE MONTATE ORIGINARIAMENTE NELLA TESTA CILINDRO PRELIMINARI Pulire bene la zona del motore su cui si andr ad operare Per agevolare le operazioni si consiglia di togliere il serbatoio e le alette dei radiatori Dopo aver svuotato il liquido del circuito di raffreddamento tramite l apposita vite posta sul coperchio pompa acqua sfilare il tubo inserito sulla testa ed il tubo che unisce i due radiatori per acconsentire l estrazione del cilindro SMONTARE IL GRUPPO DI SCARICO ED IL GRUPPO TERMICO ORIGINALE COME SEGUE Smontare il coperchio laterale comando valvola 1 Svitare la vite di fissaggio dell asta comando valvola facendo attenzione a non piegare l asta mentre si agisce sulla vite M5 per svitarla aiutarsi con una pinza per tenere ferma l2. Monter le groupe chappement et remplacer les vieux joint par ceux fournis dans le kit Athena V rifier s il est n cessaire mettre au point la carburation apr s le montage du kit Athena RODAGE USAGE ET ENTRETIEN Utiliser des essences avec au moins 96 octanes et huile synth tique Ne forcer pas le moteur pendant les premi res 3 ou 4 heures parce qu on peut endommager le kit cylindre En outre les meilleures performances arrivent seulement apr s un bon rodage V rifier p riodiquement que les soupapes de d charge et l axe de piston ne sont pas bloqu es On recommande de rempla cer le piston dans le premier cas de fatigue pour viter d endommager la chemise du cylindre Nettoyer et si n cessaire remplacer le filtre air Nous tenons vous rappeler que l accessoire lui seul ne suffit pas et qu un montage correct donnera votre scooter ses meilleures performances On recommande vivement que l assemblage des produits inclus dans le kit soit fait par des techniciens sp cialis s si cause d une mauvaise installation on surgira des probl mes nous d clinerons toute responsabilit pour tous les dommages ou pr tention techniques et conomiques notre gard Tout ce qui est crit sur cette feuille d instructions n est pas contraignant Athena se r serve le droit d appliquer des modifications si elle le juge opportun et n assume aucune responsabilit pour ventuelles erreurs d impression les ou ri

CYLINDER TAKE DOWN THE FRONT LITTLE COVER AND REUSE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS Cylinder front cover 6 Valve shaft retainer unscrew M5x12 screw from the side of the cylinder Valve shaft unscrew M4x8 from the middle of the shaft and slide it off 8 Collars 11 All the original screws 7 Springs and lever link 9 Pin dowel 10 Side cover previously disassembled and rubber gasket 1 Check carefully status of crankshaft main bearing and seals needle bearing health of your engine is guaranteed by these elements ATTENTION To assemble this cylinder kit you need to make the boring of the engine crankcase as specified below open the engine RE RE are crankcases and mill them as indicated in the figure by calculating a clearance of about 1 5 mm between piston and crankcase P Perform this processing so that the piston assembled on the crankshaft and guided by the cylinder can run all its stroke without interfering with the crankcases Wash carefully all the engine parts We suggest replacing the main bearings and their oil seals and checking the a crankshaft balance before closing the engine i i Jo ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS Clean carefully the cylinder bearing surface on the casing Be sure that there are no gasket residua or bruises Wash carefully with petrol all the components of the new cylinder kit Athena in particular the cylinder check that no impurity is inside the pipes or in the exhaust valve and
5. filo di stagno dello spessore di 1 5 mm in asse con lo spinotto far girare manualmente il motore per mezzo del pedale d avviamento per almeno 2 3 volte Al termine di questa operazione il filo di stagno presenter uno schiacciamento che misurato con un calibro centesimale indicher il valore di squish Se cos non fosse alzate o abbassate il cilindro sostituendo la guarnizione di base sino ad ottenere la misura sopra indicata Inserire l asta movimento valvole nel perno valvole facendo attenzione a non piegare l asta mentre si agisce sulla vite M5 per avvitarla aiutarsi ad es con una pinza per tenere ferma l asta Installare il coperchietto 1 laterale comando valvola originale con relativa guarnizione in gomma originale Fissare il tubo che unisce i due radiatori ed il tubo sulla testa cilindro Riempire il circuito di raffreddamento Montare il gruppo scarico sostituendo i vecchi o ring con quelli forniti nel kit Athena e controllare che sia in ottime condizioni e non presenti eccessive incrostazioni in tal caso provvedere alla pulizia dello stesso Verificare e se necessario adeguare la carburazione al nuovo gruppo termico Athena RODAGGIO USO E MANUTENZIONE Non utilizzare benzine con meno di 96 ottani ed usare olio sintetico Non forzare il motore per le prime 3 4 ore d utilizzo in quanto si rischierebbe di danneggiare il gruppo termico inoltre le massime prestazioni si avranno dopo un buon rodaggio Verificare periodicamente

9. asta e sfilarla dal perno valvola Svitare i 5 dadi da M8 sulla testa cilindro e togliere la testa 2 Svitare i 4 dadi da M8 del cilindro e togliere il cilindro 3 Togliere la guarnizione base cilindro originale 4 Coprire l imbocco del carter e togliere il pistone facendo attenzione che non entrino corpi estranei all interno del motore DAL CILINDRO ORIGINALE SMONTARE IL COPERCHIETTO FRONTALE E RECUPERARE SEGUENTI COMPONENTI Coperchietto cilindro 6 Fermo perno valvola svitare vite M5x12 a lato del cilindro Perno valvola svitare vite M4x8 posta al centro del perno e sfilarlo 8 due distanziali 11 Tutte le viti del cilindro originale 7 Forchetta comando valvola 9 Boccola centraggio cilindro carter 10 Coperchio laterale comando valvola gi smontato precedentemente e relativa guarnizione in gomma 1 Controllare attentamente lo stato d usura di albero motore paraolio e cuscinetti di banco astuccio a rulli occhio di biella e scarico in quanto l affidabilit del vostro motore viene garantita anche dalle buone condizioni di questi componenti ATTENZIONE Per installare questo gruppo termico bisogna eseguire la barenatura dei carter motore come specificato di seguito aprire i carter motore ed eseguire la fresatura degli stessi come indicato nella figura a lato prevedendo un gioco di circa 1 5 mm fra il pistone ed i carter Effettuare tale lavorazione affinch il relativo pisto

11. faut couvrir louverture du carter moteur l aide d un chiffon propre appliquer autour de la bielle Ensuite vous pouvez d monter le piston Faire attention ce qu aucuns corps tranger n entrent dans le moteur IL FAUT DEMONTER DU CYLINRE D ORIGINE LE COUVERCLE FRONTAL ET RECUPERER LES PIECES SUIVANTES Petit couvercle cylindre 6 Arr t axe de valve desserrer la vis M5x12 Axe de valve desserrer la vis M4x8 au centre de l axe et enlever le 8 Les deux entretoises 11 Toutes les vis du cylindre d origine 7 Fourchette commande de valve 9 Centreur du cylindre carter moteur 10 Couvercle lat ral commande valve avec son joint d j d mont au pr alable 1 Il faut v rifier la qualit du roulement de la t te de bielle avec les roulements et les joints spy de vilebrequin La vie du moteur d pend directement de la qualit de ces composants ATTENTION Pour assembler ce kit cylindre il faut faire l al sage du carter moteur comme sp cifi ci dessous Ouvrir les carters moteur et les fraiser comme indiqu dans la figure en calculant un jeu de environ 1 5 mm entre piston et carter Faire cet usinage afin que le piston assembl sur l arbre moteur et guid par le cylindre peut faire sa lev e compl tement sans interf rer avec les carters Nettoyer bien toutes les pi ces du moteur On recommande de remplacer les roulements vilebrequin et leur joints spy et de v rifier f qui lib
12. guarnizione fornita nel kit Athena con relative viti M5x16 Montare i 5 prigionieri M8x52 14 forniti nel kit Athena Pulire con cura il piano di appoggio cilindro sui carter accertandosi che non presenti residui di guarnizione o ammaccature Montare il pistone Athena con la freccia incisa sopra rivolta allo scarico Dopo aver lubrificato lo spinotto inserirlo nel pistone facendolo avanzare con la pressione della mano dopo aver inserito gli anelli fermo spinotto accertarsi con scrupolo che gli stessi siano ben sistema ti nella loro sede Montare il segmento Athena nella sede del pistone facendo attenzione che l estremit dello stesso coincida con l apposito fermo Installare la nuova guarnizione base cilindro 4 fornita nel kit Athena sp 0 6 mm ed il cilindro Athena 5 fissandolo con i 4 dadi da M8 a croce Montare la guarnizione di tenuta testa 15 fornita nel kit Athena sul piano appoggio testa del cilindro Appoggiare la cupola centrale Athena 16 sul cilindro e montare l o ring 023 52x1 78 fornito nel kit Athena sull apposita sede Posizionare la testa esterna Athena 17 sui prigionieri cilindro e sulla cupola e quindi fissarla con i dadi M8 a croce con relative rondelle SQUISH Per ottenere le giuste e testate prestazioni dell ATHENA FACTORY KIT si deve avere uno squish pari a 1 1 mm Per rilevarlo potete agire come segue posizionare manualmente il pistone verso il punto morto inferiore inserire dal foro candela un

14. ne montato sull albero motore e guidato dal cilindro possa percorrere completamente la sua corsa senza interferire con i carter Lavare accuratamente tutti i particolari del motore Si consiglia di sostituire i cuscinetti banco motore e relativi paraoli e di verificare il bilanciamento dell albero motore prima di richiudere il motore MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO Lavare e soffiare accuratamente con benzina tutti i componenti del cilindro originale che si andranno a riutilizzare e tutti i nuovi compo nenti del gruppo termico Athena facendo particolare attenzione che non vi siano impurit all interno dei vari canali del cilindro o nella sede valvola di scarico e proteggere l imbocco dei carter con uno straccio pulito Montare il paraolio 12 perno valvola del kit Athena nell apposita sede cilindro Montare le due semivalvole Athena 13 DX e SX fornite nel kit nelle apposite sedi del cilindro e fissarle con relative viti M5x12 Infilare il perno originale 8 dal lato cilindro Nel suo inserimento all interno montare di seguito distanziale forchetta distanziale originali verificando che la forchetta agganci al centro le spine delle 2 semivalvole Fissare la forchetta originale 9 al perno con relativa vite M4x8 ed il perno originale 8 a lato del cilindro con relativa vite M5x12 facendo attenzione che la rondella di rasamento venga fissata al centro della relativa gola del perno Chiudere il coperchietto valvole originale 6 con apposita
15. oincident avec l arr t de segment Assembler le nouveau joint d embase 4 du kit Athena ep 0 6 mm Assembler le cylindre Athena 5 en ayant au pr alable lubrifi les parois de celui ci et serrer le avec les 4 crous M8 Assembler le joint culasse 15 fourni dans le kit Athena sur le plan d appui de la culasse Poser le d me centrale 16 sur le cylindre et assembler le joint torique 023 52x1 78 fourni dans le kit Athena Positionner la culasse ext rieure Athena 17 Athena sur les goujons du cylindre et sur le d me et serrer l ensemble avec les crous M8 SQUISH Pour obtenir les meilleures performances du kit Factory le squish doit tre gal a 1 1 mm Pour le relever il faut positionner le piston manuellement vers le point mort inf rieur ins rer du trou de bougie un fil d tain de l paisseur du 1 5 mm en axe avec le piston tourner le moteur au moins 3 fois Le fil d tain montrera un crasement que mesur avec un calibre cent simal indiquera la valeur du squish Si n est pas comme cela lever au abaisser le cylindre en rempla ant le joint d em base jusqu obtenir la mesure indiqu ci dessus Ins rer le doigt de commande des valves dans l axe de valves Il faut s assurer q il ne soit par borde au plier en phase de serrage de la vis M5 Monter le couvercle lat ral du groupe valves chappement 1 avec le joint Fixer le diff rentes durites et raccordes Remplir le circuit de refroidissement
16. rage de l arbre moteur avant de refermer le moteur MONTAGE DU GROUPE THERMIQUE Nettoyer le plan d appui des joints du carter moteur et v rifier qu il n y a pas de r sidu de joints ou bossage D graisser attentivement tous les composants du nouveau kit cylindre Athena en particulier le cylindre et contr ler qu il n y a pas d impuret s dans les conduits des transfert Assembler le joint spy d axe de valve 12 qui se trouve dans le kit Athena Assembler les 2 valves DX et SX du kit 13 et les serrer avec les 2 vis M5x12 Monter l axe de valve d origine 8 par le cot du cylindre En mettant cet axe assembler et v rifiez que les fourchettes soient correctement mont Fixer la fourchette d origine 9 a l axe gr ce aux vis M4x8 Fixer l axe d origine 8 c t du cylindre par la vis M5x12 faites attention q elle soit au centre de son positionnement Fermer le couvercle de valves d origine 6 en utilisant le joint fournie dans le kit Athena l aide des vis M5x16 Serrer les 5 goujons M8x52 14 dans le kit Athena Nettoyer bien le plan d appui du cylindre sur le carter et v rifier qu il n y a pas de r sidu ou de bossage Assembler le piston avec la fl che tourn e vers l chappement Graisser l axe du piston et ins rer le dans le piston ensuite ins rer les circlips d arr t d axe de piston dans leur logement Assembler le segment dans son emplacement et s assurer que ses extr mit s c
17. uter head 17 on the cylinder bolts and on the inner dome and then tighten it with M8 nuts and washers SQUISH To get the best performances from the Athena Factory kit it is necessary to have a 1 1 mm squish To measure it follow these instructions place the piston manually towards the bottom dead centre Insert a tin thread of 1 5 mm thru the spark plug hole in axis with the piston pin and make the piston turn for at least 3 times The tin thread will show a crush that measured with a centesimal gauge indicates the squish value If not so raise or lower the cylinder by replacing the base gasket with a thicker or thinner one Tighten the push rod assy with the valve shaft being careful to not bend the assy when tightening the M5 screw use some pincers to block the assy when screwing Assemble the side power valve control cover 1 by using the original rubber gasket Tighten the tube that joins the 2 radiators wand the tube of the cylinder head Fill the cooling circuit Assemble the exhaust system by replacing the old o rings with those ones supplied in the Athena kit If necessary clean the o ring seat for a perfect seal Check and if necessary regulate the engine carburetion RUNNING IN USE AND MAINTENANCE Use petrol containing at least 96 octanes and synthetic oil Do not force the engine during the first 3 4 hours as you can damage the cylinder kit The best performance is obtained only after a good running in Check periodically
