ATHENA INSTRUCTIONS DE MONTAGE GROUPE THERMIQUE Nous vous remercions pour avoir choisi nos produits et restons a votre disposition pour tous renseignements suppl mentaires Bon travail OPERATIONS PRELIMINAIRES DE DEMONTAGE Bien nettoyer la zone du moteur o l on doit op rer Pour faciliter les op rations il est con _ El seill d enlever la selle le r servoir et les ailettes des radiateurs 2 Sa Sl D visser l embout d aspiration enlever le pot d chappement et enlever le ch ssis arri re a i D monter les triers de support du moteur situ s au dessus de la culasse et enlever le carburateur Apr s avoir vid le liquide du circuit de refroidissement avec la vis sp ciale situ e sur le couvercle de la pompe eau enlever le tuyau du circuit de refroidissement ins r sur la culasse pour permettre l extraction du cylindre oS DEMONTER LE GROUPE THERMIQUE ORIGINAL DE LA FACON SUIVANTE oe Enlever la bougie D monter le couvercle lat ral de la commande soupape sa Desserrer la vis de fixage de la tige de commande soupape en faisant attention ne pas plier SRE LC gir la tige pendant que l on agit sur la vis M5 pour la desserrer s aider en ins rant une goupil le dans le trou pr vu cet effet pour tenir immobile la tige et l enlever de l axe soupape fig B Enlever la bague entretoise de l axe soupape Desserrer les six crous de M8 sur la t te du cylindre et enlever la culasse les joints toriques

Togliere la guarnizione base cilindro originale e rimuovere le bussole di centraggio Coprire l imbocco del carter e togliere il pistone facendo attenzione che non entrino corpi estranei all interno del motore Dal cilindro originale rimuovere il pacco lamellare il collettore di aspirazione il coperchietto frontale ed i coperchietti laterali per recuperare i seguenti componenti fig C Coperchietto cilindro Coperchietti dei booster di scarico Tutte le viti del cilindro originale Fermo perno valvola svitare la vite M5 a lato del cilindro Camme dei booster di scarico Molle di compressione Rondelle Leva centrale e relative molle Supporto di ritorno valvola centrale Albero valvole Supporto valvola centrale Ponticello di comando booster di scarico Controllare attentamente lo stato d usura dei seguenti componenti e nel caso sostituirli in quanto l affidabilit del motore viene garantita anche dalle buone condizioni di questi componenti albero motore paraolio e cuscinetti di banco astuccio a rulli scarico e biella MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO Lavare accuratamente con benzina tutti i componenti del cilindro originale e del gruppo termico Athena che si andranno a riutilizzare e soffiarli con aria compressa facendo particolare attenzione che non vi siano impurit all interno dei vari canali del cilindro o nella sede della valvola di scarico e proteggere l imbocco dei carter con uno stracci
5. correspondants et les pieds de centrage Desserrer les quatre crous de M8 du cylindre et l enlever Enlever le joint de la base cylindre original et enlever les boussoles de centrage Couvrir embout du carter et enlever le piston en faisant attention que des corps trangers n entrent pas l int rieur du moteur Enlever le jeu de clapets du cylindre original le collecteur d aspiration le petit couvercle frontal et les petits couvercles lat raux pour r cup rer les composants suivants fig C Petit couvercle cylindre Petits couvercles des boosters d chappement Toutes les vis du cylindre original Arr t axe soupape desserrer la vis M5 sur le c t du cylindre Cames des boosters d chappement Ressorts de compression Rondelles Levier central et ressorts correspondants Support de retour soupape centrale Arbre soupapes Support soupape centrale Dispositif de commande booster d chappement Contr ler attentivement l tat d usure des composants suivants et si besoin les remplacer car la fiabilit du moteur est garantie galement par leur bon tat arbre moteur joints spy et roulements vilebrequin cage aiguille pot d chappement et bielle MONTAGE DU GROUPE THERMIQUE Laver soigneusement avec de l essence et souffler avec air tous les composants du cylindre original qui seront r utilis s et tous les nouveaux composants du groupe thermique Athena en

7. astly all the mechanisms opening completely FIM G063 GB ATHENA SPA Via delle Albere 13 36045 Alonte VI Italy Tel 39 0444 727258 Fax 39 0444 727222 www athena ad com e mail sales athena ad com ATHENA If a booster opens before the other loosen the cams and scroll them lightly until the opening of the boosters is synchronised Replace the O rings of the side booster covers supplied in the Athena kit and fasten the M5 screws to 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Install the new gasket of the front cover and tighten the M5 screws to 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Fit the six M8 stud bolts included in the Athena kit Carefully clean the cylinder surface on the crankcases and make sure that it has no gasket residues or dents Fit the Athena piston segments in their seats ensuring that their ends coincide with the specific retainers and ensure that the N symbol on the segments faces upwards Fit the piston with the engraved top arrow facing the exhaust After having lubricated the pin insert it in the piston making it advance by pressing it manually After having inserted the pin retainer rings make sure they are set properly in their seat Install the new cylinder base gasket supplied in the kit the centring bushes and the Athena cylinder by fastening them with the four M10 nuts cross wise Fit the head sealing O rings supplied in the Athena kit and the centring pins on the head sup port surface of the cylinder Insert the tw
8. canismi Nel caso in cui un booster si aprisse prima dell altro allentare i camme e scorrerli leggermente fino ad ottenere l apertura sincronizzata dei booster FIM G063 CI ATHENA SPA Via delle Albere 13 36045 Alonte VI Italy Tel 39 0444 727258 Fax 39 0444 727222 www athena ad com e mail ordini athena ad com ATHENA Oa kgf SI O ring dei coperchietti booster laterali forniti nel kit Athena e fissare le viti M5 a 4 Nm 4 kgfem Installare la nuova guarnizione del coperchietto frontale e fissare le viti M5 a 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Montare i sei prigionieri M8 forniti nel kit Athena Pulire con cura il piano di appoggio cilindro sui carter accertandosi che non presenti residui di guarnizione o ammaccature Montare i segmenti del pistone Athena nelle loro sedi facendo attenzione che l estremit degli stessi coincidano con gli appositi fermi e accertarsi che il simbolo N inciso sui segmenti sia rivolto verso l alto Montare il pistone con la freccia incisa sopra rivolta allo scarico Dopo aver lubrificato lo spinotto inserirlo nel pistone facendolo avanzare con la pressione della mano Dopo aver inserito gli anelli fermo spinotto accertarsi con scrupolo che gli stessi siano ben sistemati nella loro sede Installare la nuova guarnizione base cilindro fornita nel kit le bussole di centraggio ed il cilindro Athena fissandolo con i quattro dadi da M10 a croce Montare gli O ring di tenuta testa forniti nel ki
9. cas contraire lever ou abaisser le cylindre en rempla ant le joint d embase jusqu obtenir la mesure indiqu e ci dessus Ins rer la bague entretoise dans l arbre soupapes Enfiler la tige de mouvement des soupapes dans l axe en faisant attention ne pas plier la tige lorsque l on agit sur la vis M5 pour la serrer Fixer la vis de fixage de commande soupape tige 5 Nm 0 5 kgfem en faisant attention de ne pas plier la tige pendant que l on agit sur la vis Md pour la serrer s aider en ins rant une goupille dans le trou correspondant pour tenir immobile la tige fig B Monter le petit couvercle lat ral de commande de la soupape originale avec le joint corre spondant en caoutchouc fourni dans le kit Athena Fixer le tuyau qui unit les deux radiateurs et le tuyau sur la t te du cylindre Remplir le circuit de refroidissement Monter le groupe pot d chappement en rempla ant les vieux joints toriques par ceux fournis dans le kit Athena et contr ler qu il soit en parfait tat et qu il mait pas trop d incrustations dans ce cas le nettoyer V rifier et si c est n cessaire adapter la carburation au nouveau groupe thermique Athena Installer le tuyau du circuit de refroidissement sur la culasse serrer le collier et remplir le circuit de refroidissement jusqu au col du trou de remplissage Monter les triers de support moteur situ s sur la culasse Ins rer le carburateur puis fixer le collier corres
10. do valvola originale con relativa guarnizione in gomma fornita nel kit Athena Fissare il tubo che unisce i due radiatori ed il tubo sulla testa cilindro Riempire il circuito di raffreddamento Montare il gruppo scarico sostituendo i vecchi O ring con quelli forniti nel kit Athena e controllare che sia in ottime condizioni e non presenti eccessive incrostazioni in tal caso provvedere alla ies dello stesso Verificare e se necessario adeguare la carburazione al nuovo gruppo termico thena Installare il tubo del circuito di raffreddamento sulla testa stringere la fascetta e riempire il circui to di raffreddamento fino al collo del foro di riempimento Montare le staffe di supporto motore poste sopra la testa Inserire il carburatore e fissare la relativa fascetta Montare il telaio posteriore fissare il manicotto d aspirazione e montare la marmitta Installare infine il serbatoio le alette dei radiatori e la sella Per ottimizzare il kit Athena con lo scarico OEM necessario adattare la carburazione ai seguenti parametri Getto minimo 52 Vite aria 2 e Getto massimo 175 178 Spillo conico 3 tacca N B parametri sopra citati sono indicativi essi possono variare in base alle condizioni climatiche o agli accessori montati es scarico Racing completo carburatore CDI Racing ecc pertanto la carburazione deve essere controllata attentamente verificando la colorazione della candela RODAGGIO USO E MANUTENZIONE Non

12. faisant tr s attention ce qu il n y ait pas d impuret s l int rieur des divers canaux du cylindre et dans le logement de la soupape d chappement et prot ger l embout des carters avec un chiffon propre Monter les joints spy de laxe soupape du kit Athena dans le logement du cylindre correspondant Graisser et ins rer la soupape de puissance fournie dans le kit Athena avec la pastille tourn e vers le haut Fixer le support de la soupape centrale et serrer les vis M5 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem voir fig D E Graisser et ins rer les boosters d chappement N B La zone d angle en t te des boosters d chappement doit tre tourn e vers le centre du cylindre faire attention galement ne pas inverser les boosters eux m mes fig D Installer le dispositif de commande booster et fixer les vis M5 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem voir fig F Positionner ensuite en s quence fig G Came gauche Ressort de compression Rondelle gauche Levier central en ins rant les ressorts correspondants dans la tige de la soupape de puissance Rondelle droite Ressort de compression Came droite Ins rer l arbre soupapes et le positionner comme indiqu sur la fig H Fixer l arr t de l axe soupape et le support de retour soupape centrale sur le levier central avec la vis M4 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Mettre les vis M4 sur les cames et fixer 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Graisser tout le syst me des soupapes pour favorise
13. fl che grav e dessus tourn e vers l chappement Apr s avoir lubrifi la goupille l ins rer dans le piston en la faisant avancer avec la pression de la main Apr s avoir ins r les anneaux de blocage goupille s assurer que ceux ci soient bien plac s dans leur logement Installer le nouveau joint de la base cylindre fourni dans le kit les boussoles de centrage et le cylindre Athena en le fixant avec les quatre crous de M10 en croix Monter les joints toriques d tanch it de la culasse fournis dans le kit Athena et les pieds de centrage sur le plan d appui de la t te du cylindre Ins rer les deux nouveaux pieds de centrage de la culasse 3 mm Positionner la culasse Athena sur les goujons filet s du cylindre et la fixer avec les crous M8 en croix avec les rondelles correspondantes 25 Nm 2 5 kgfem SQUISH fig L pour obtenir les prestations correctes et test es de ce kit il faut avoir un squish quivalent 2 2 1 mm pour le kit 72 mm Pour le relever agir de la fa on suivan te mettre manuellement le piston vers le point mort inf rieur ins rer par le trou de la bougie un fil d tain d une paisseur de 2 5 mm dans l axe de la goupille faire tourner manuellement le moteur avec la p dale de d marrage au moins 2 3 fois Au terme de cette op ration le fil d tain pr sentera un crasement qui mesur avec un calibre cent simal indiquera la valeur de squish Dans le

15. mpurity is inside the various cylinder channels or in the exhaust valve and protect the Opening of the crankcases with a clean cloth Fit the valve pin oil seal of the Athena kit in the specific cylinder seat Grease and insert the power valve supplied in the Athena kit with the label facing up Fasten the central valve support and tighten the M5 screws to 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem see pictures D E Grease and insert the exhaust boosters N B The angled area on top of the exhaust boosters must face the centre of the cylinder and be careful not to invert the boosters picture D Install the booster control bridge and tighten the M5 screws to 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem see picture F Then place the following in order picture G Left cam Compression spring Right washer Central lever inserting the relative springs in the shaft of the power valve Right washer Compression spring Right cam Insert the valve shaft and position it as indicated in picture H Fasten the valve pin retainer and the central check valve support above the central lever with the M4 screws to 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Position the M4 screws on the cams and tighten to 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Grease the entire valve system for the various components to slide more easily N B Verify that the system functions correctly by rotating the valve shaft picture You will first notice the power valve gradually rising and then the delayed opening of the two synchronised exhaust boosters and l
16. o new 3 mm centring pins of the head Position the Athena head on the cylinder stud bolts and then fasten it using the M8 nuts cross wise with the relative washers at 25 Nm 2 5 kgfem SQUISH picture L a squish equal to 2 2 1 is required to obtain the correct and tested perfor mances from this 72 mm kit To detect it act as follows manually position the piston towards the bottom dead centre insert a 2 5 mm thick tin wire in line with the pin through the Spark plug hole and turn the engine manually from the starter pedal at least 2 3 times Once this operation is completed the tin wire will be flattened and when measured with a microme ter it will indicate the squish value Otherwise lift or lower the cylinder and replace the base gasket until the above mentioned measurement is obtained Insert the spacer bush in the valve shaft Insert the valve drive shaft into the pin ensuring that the shaft does not bend while acting on the M5 screws to tighten it Fasten the shaft valve control fixing screw at 5 Nm 0 5 kgfem ensuring that the shaft does not bend while acting on the M5 screw to tighten insert a pin in the relative hole to keep the shaft still picture B ee a cover of the original valve control with the relative rubber gasket supplied in the thena kit Fasten the tube that joins the two radiators and the tube on the cylinder head Fill the cooling circuit Fit the exhaust unit replacing the old O rings
17. o pulito Montare il paraolio perno valvola del kit Athena nell apposita sede cilindro Ungere e inserire la valvola di potenza fornita nel kit Athena con il bollino rivolto verso l alto Fissare il supporto valvola centrale e serrare le viti M5 a 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem vedi fig D E Ungere ed inserire i booster di scarico N B La zona angolata in testa ai booster di scarico deve essere rivolta verso il centro del cilindro inoltre fare attenzione a non invertire i booster stessi fig D Installare il ponticello di comando booster e fissare le viti M5 a 6 Nm 0 6 kgfem vedi fig F Successivamente posizionare in sequenza fig G Camma sinistra Molla di compressione Rondella sinistra Leva centrale inserendo le relative molle nell asta della valvola di potenza Rondella destra Molla di compressione Camma destra Inserire l albero valvole e posizionarlo come indicato in fig H Fissare il fermo perno valvola ed il supporto di ritorno valvola centrale sopra la leva centrale per mezzo della vite M4 a 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Posizionare le viti M4 sulle camme e fissare a 4 Nm 0 4 kgfem Ungere l intero sistema valvole per favorire lo scorrimento dei vari componenti N B Verificare il corretto funzionamento del sistema ruotando l albero valvole fig I si noter prima l alzata progressiva della valvola di potenza e poi l apertura ritardata dei due booster di scarico in sincronia fino alla massima apertura di tutti i mec
18. pondant Monter le ch ssis arri re fixer l embout d aspiration et monter le pot d chappement Installer enfin le r servoir les ailettes des radiateurs et la selle Pour optimiser le kit Athena avec l chappement OEM et le carburateur OEM adapter la carburation aux param tres suivants Gicleur mini mor 52 Vis air 2 et Gicleur maximum 175 178 Aiguille NBLE 3 cran Soupape gaz 4 0 mm code KEHIN N502 11E01 soupape EM 3 0 mm N B Les param tres sus mentionn s sont indicatifs et varient suivant les conditions climatiques ou les accessoires mont s ex chappement Racing complet carburateur CDI Racing etc par cons quent la carburation doit tre contr l e attentivement en v rifiant la couleur de la bougie RODAGE USAGE ET ENTRETIEN Utiliser des essences avec au moins 96 octanes Ne pas forcer le moteur pendant les premi res 5 6 heures de course car on pourrait endommager le groupe thermique En outre les meilleures performances s obtiennent apr s un bon rodage V rifier periodiquement que les soupapes de d charge et le segment du piston ne soient pas bloqu s Il est n cessaire de remplacer le piston lors de la premi re fatigue du kit afin de ne pas compromettre la rondeur du corps du cylindre Nettoyer et si n cessaire remplacer le filtre air Nous tenons vous rappeler que l accessoire lui seul ne suffit pas et qu un montage correct donnera votre moto ses meilleures performances
