NANCE Self cleaning Your iron will give the best ironing results and last longer if you apply self cleaning regularly once or twice a month to remove any scale or fluff Set the steam selector knob to OFF position Fill water tank up to MAX water level using supplied water filling beaker Place iron on its heel Set the temperature dial to LINEN Plug into an electrical outlet and switch On Allow the iron to heat up until the heating indicator light first goes out and then comes on again Hold the iron horizontally over the sink fer a porter 16 Set the steam selector knob at position descaling and hold the knob at this position then press down the self cleaning button Keep it at downward position for a few minutes CAUTION When the self cleaning button is pressed down boiling water and steam will emit from the holes in the soleplate and wash away the impurities and scale Move the iron forward and backward while this happens letting steam and water escape until the water tank is completely empty Insert the plug into electrical outlet Set the temperature dial to LINEN and let the iron heat up again The remainder of the water inside the steam chamber will now vaporize Unplug from power supply and allow soleplate to cool then wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth IMPORTANT Only press down on the self cleaning button when you want to activate the self cleaning system
