Warranty Information from the Service and Engineering Division This Limited Warranty is only valid within Canada To repair the Product within the labour warranty period the original purchaser the Purchaser must either return the defective Product or have it delivered freight prepaid to a Sony Service Center or to a service facility authorized by Sony The Product to be repaired should be returned in either its original carton or a similar package affording an equal degree of protection Damage sustained in transit or shipment of the Product will not be repaired under warranty For labour warranty repairs Sony will return the repaired Product freight prepaid to Purchaser All freight costs associated with the replacement of warranty parts following the expiration of the original parts warranty period are the responsibility of the Purchaser Sony is not obligated to provide Purchaser with a substitute unit during the warranty period or at any time Subject to availability Sony may be able to provide field service and support at the Purchaser s location for certain products the cost for such service will be Sony s then prevailing per incident billable rates related costs and expenses for such service The limited warranty stated on this card is subject to the following terms and conditions TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1 NOTIFICATION OF CLAIMS WARRANTY SERVICE If Purchaser believes that the Product is defective in material or workmanship th

Product and a waiver by Purchaser of any claims thereto 3 EXCEPTIONS TO LIMITED WARRANTY This warranty is only valid within Canada and is limited to repairs or parts replacement necessitated by defective workmanship or materials within the applicable warranty period and does not extend to persons other than the original purchaser who purchases this unit within Canada in unused condition from Sony or an authorized Sony dealer Sony shall have no liability or obligation to Purchaser with respect to any Product requiring service during the warranty period if the Product is subjected to any of the following abuse improper use negligence accident modification failure of the end user to follow the operating procedures outlined in the user s manual failure of the end user to follow the maintenance procedures in the service manual for the Product where a schedule is specified for regular replacement or maintenance or cleaning of certain parts based on usage and the end user has failed to follow such schedule attempted repair service modification or alteration by anyone other than an authorized Sony representative operation of the Product outside of the published environmental and electrical parameters or if such Product s original identification trade mark serial number markings have been defaced altered or removed Sony excludes from warranty coverage Products sold AS IS and or WITH ALL FAULTS and excludes used Products that have not been

11. e Purchaser must provide written notice with an explanation of the repair problem to Sony within the applicable warranty period If after investigation Sony determines that the reported problem was not covered by the warranty the Purchaser shall pay Sony for the cost of investigating the problem at Sony s then prevailing per incident billable rate No repair or replacement of any Product or part thereof shall extend the warranty period for the entire Product The specific warranty on the repaired or replacement part shall only be in effect for a period of NINETY 90 DAYS following the repair or replacement of that part or the remaining period of the Product parts warranty whichever is greater 2 EXCLUSIVE REMEDY ACCEPTANCE Purchaser s exclusive remedy and Sony s sole obligation is to supply or pay for the labour necessary to repair a Product found to be defective within the labour warranty period and to supply at no extra charge new or rebuilt replacement parts for parts found to be defective during the parts warranty period If repair services or replacement parts fail to remedy a defect covered under this Limited Warranty Sony may at its sole option and no extra charge elect to perform additional repair services or parts replacement until the defect is remedied or replace the Product Purchaser s failure to make a claim as provided in paragraph 1 above or continued use of the Product shall constitute an unqualified acceptance of such
