14. gloves when performing maintenance involving the chain MAINTENANCE Turn the chain tensioning knob clockwise to tension the chain NOTE A cold chain is correctly tensioned when there is no slack on the underside of the guide bar the chain is snug and it can be turned by hand without binding Rotate the chain cover lock knob clockwise to secure Retension the chain whenever the flats on the drive links hang out of the bar groove NOTE During normal saw operation the temperature of the chain increases The drive links of a correctly tensioned warm chain will hang approximately 1 16 1 3 mm out of the bar groove NOTE New chains tend to stretch Check the chain tension frequently and tension as required ACAUTION A chain tensioned while warm may be too tight upon cooling Check the cold tension before next use FLATS ON DRIVE LINKS 35 MAINTENANCE Turn the locking wheel 9 to tighten the side gt gt cover 10 completely Fig 40 Do not overfill Leave approximately 5 mm of space to the lower edge to allow the lubricant to expand Fig 41 Check the oil level at the window of the oil tank 11 prior to switching on and regularly during operation Refill oil when the oil level is lower than the MIN marking Fig 42 Wipe up spilled lubricant with a soft cloth and refit the tank cap 11a ake sure the guide bar 6 and the saw chain 5 are in place when you check t

17. pr vu M fiez vous des chutes de branches et regardez o vous mettez les pieds L op ration consistant retirer les branches d un arbre abattu s appelle l branchage Pour maintenir l arbre distance du sol pendant l branchage ne coupez pas les grosses branches qui le soutiennent Coupez les petites branches d un seul coup Les branches sous tension doivent tre sci es de bas en haut pour viter de coincer la scie chaine 67 UTILISATION COMMENT RETIRER LES RACINES D APPUI voir fig 14 Une racine d appui est une grosse racine partant du tronc et faisant saillie au dessus du sol Retirez les racines d appui avant d abattre l arbre Commencez par faire une entaille horizontale dans la racine puis faites en une verticale Retirez la partie ainsi d coup e et jetez la au loin Une fois que vous aurez retir les plus grosses racines d appui suivez la proc dure correcte pour l abattage TRONGONNAGE See Fig 15 On appelle tron onnage ou d bitage le fait de couper un arbre abattu en billes de la taille d sir e Veillez toujours vous tenir bien camp et en quilibre le poids galement r parti sur les deux pieds Ne coupez qu une bille la fois Soutenez les petites billes avec un chevalet ou une autre bille Garder l espace de travail propre et d blay Assurez vous que rien ne risque d entrer en contact avec l extr mit du guide et la cha ne car cela pourrait causer un rebond Pour le
