1. 4 S rie 4 COMBINES D ESSAI S r SERIES 4 LINEMAN S TEST SETS SERIES 4 AMPLI LINEMAN S TEST SETS S A HENRI TeL 01 47 81 71 22 Fax 01 47 84 18 99 CE SOMMAIRE CONTENTS ECOUTE AMPLIFIEE SERIE 4 AMPLI AMPLIFIED SPEAKER SERIES 4 AMPLI 14 SONNERIE RINGER DESCRIPTION Le combin d essai S rie 4 est un appareil de test t l phonique destin aux installateurs aux monteurs et tous les techniciens charg s de la maintenance ou des tests sur r seaux t l phoniques La S rie 4 offre les fonctions suivantes Num rotation d cimale et muitifr quences Sonnerie lectronique pour signaler les appels Rappel du dernier num ro compos 23 chiffres en d cimal et en DTMF Visualisation des polarit s Ecoute discr te Flashing Ecoute amplifi e S rie 4 ampli uniquement Coupure micro Connectique de raccordement modulaire DESCRIPTION The Series 4 lineman s test set is used by ins tallers repair technicians and other telecom munications personnel for the installation aud testing of telephone services The Series 4 test set provides DTMF tone rotary pulse dialing Electronic ringer to indicate incoming calls Last number redial 23 digits T P Line indication Line monitor feature Register recall Hook flash Mute feature for noisy locations Modular cordset connection Ampli2. ring negative the red lead to tip positive Switch to ON to access the network For SERIES 4 model press the key on the For SERIES 4 AMPLI mode there is no polarity key because the polarity indicator LEDs operate conti nuously without requiring a key operation If the green LED lights the line polarity is correct if the red LED lights up the line polarity is reversed NOTE The Series 4 test sets will operate regardless of line polarity RINGER The Series 4 test set is equipped with an internal ringer to indicate incoming ring signals The Series TOUCHE D ECOUTE AMPLIFIEE Les combin s d essai S rie 4 Ampli sont quip s d une touche d coute amplifi e qui peut tre utili s e lorsque l interrupteur situ au dessus du clavier est en position MARCHE Cette touche jaune est situ e dans le coin sup rieur droit du clavier un pictogramme repr sentant un petit haut parleur y est figur Lorsque le combin raccord sur la ligne tester est en position MARCHE un premier appui sur cette touche mettra en marche l coute ampli fi e un premier niveau Un deuxi me appui sur la touche r gle l coute amplifi e un niveau maximum et un troisi me appui coupe l coute amplifi e N B Cette fonction est t l aliment e directement par le courant de ligne pas de pile Cette fonction est inop rante en mode d coute discr te 4 should be i
3. 5 minutes use redial after you have dialed a number go off line for a moment then switch to ON to re connect to the network Confirm that you have dial tone and then press the BIS key on the The last number previously dialed will redia led from memory Redial is done in the same mode Tone or Pulse as originally dialed If you need to dial 9 or some other access number followed by a pause sim ply press the 9 and wait for the next dial tone Then press the BIS key to redial the number in memory 13 14 VERIFICATION DES POLARITES Les combin s d essai S rie 4 fonctionnent quelle que soit la polarit du branchement Toutefois si l on souhaite v rifier la polarit raccorder le cordon du combin fil rouge sur fil noir sur de la ligne tester mettre l interrupteur sur la position marche Pour le SERIE 4 appuyer sur la touche POL Pour le SERIE 4 AMPLI il n y a pas de touche les LEDS qui indiquent la polarit fonctionnent en per manence Si la led verte c t du signe s allume la polarit est respect e Si la led rouge c t du signe X s allume la polarit est invers e SONNERIE Le S rie 4 est muni d une sonnerie lectronique Elle ne signalera les appels que lorsque le combin sera en position Arr t POLARITY CHECK Use the following procedure to check line polarity Connect the black test lead to

7. n OFF position in order to receive incoming ring signals AMPLIFIED SPEAKER BUTTON The Series 4 Ampli feature amplified speaker circuit to monitor line activity The speaker key is located in the upper right corner of the keypad and has a small speaker symbol on it To operate this feature oft hook into the position and press the speaker key Press once to provide the first level of amplification second press will provide additional amplification and a third press will shut off the amplifier feature Note 1 operation of the amplified speaker feature does not require a battery Note 2 the amplified speaker feature does not operate in monitor mode 15 CHANGEMENT DE CORDON Voir dessin page 7 Le cordon du S rie 4 est quip d un plug mo dulaire 6 voies 4 connections qui permet une interchangeabilit ais e avec divers cordons de raccordement Pour ce faire d visser la plaque de protection arri re sur laquelle est fix le mousqueton d ac crochage Prendre soin au remontage de faire cheminer le cordon par le serpentin avant de remonter la plaque de protection et ceci afin d offrir une meilleure s curit contre l arrachage accidentel du cordon LINE CORD CHANGE See drawing on page 7 The Serie 4 is with standard 6 posi tions modular jack for easy connection of a variety of cordsets This jack is located under the cover which secures the bel
