ES Sealing Hubs Installation amp Maintenance Information Crouse Hinds by FT IF 1 28 SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE INSTALLATION WARNING Electrical power must be turned OFF before and during installation and maintenance ES sealing hubs are used to seal vertical and horizontal conduit risers in Class Division Group C amp D hazardous classified locations as defined by the National Electrical Code NEC ES sealing hubs may be installed vertically in enclosure hubs as shown in Figure 1 when sealed using Chico A sealing compound Sealing hubs must engage at least five full threads with the enclosure After ES sealing hub has been securely installed in enclosure opening and wires have been pulled through conduit into enclosure the procedure for Chico A or TSC sealing compound should be followed to provide proper sealing ES hubs are also suitable for use in a non classified area as means to terminate conduit into a thin wall enclosure or junction box To meet this application the product must be installed with the proper sealing gasket and lock nut These parts can be purchased with the sealing hub at the time of order by placing the suffix SG at the end of the catalog number i e ES31 SG CAUTION Use of sealing hub with gasket and lock nut is never permissible in a classified area APPLICATION OF CHICO A COMPOUND eep conductors a Chico A compound in center of ES flush
