37. bric of reality and arts under the rubric of fiction the meeting between the different forms of arts and of sciences was considered as belonging not only to any common ground but as a genuine space for dialogue In 2012 2013 Speculative Narration gathered a large spectrum of disciplines and approaches in order to explore the effects and potentialities stemming from the confrontation between two terms that have shared a similar deval uation one having been disqualified in the field of contemporary art the other in the history of philosophy Since sev eral years in various fields aesthetic philosophical and political they have deployed new positive perspectives enabling a broadening and a fortifica tion of narrative forces This seminar was held at the Halles de Schaerbeek in March 2013 In February 2013 erg also hosted Exposing Theory during one day a seminar organised in partnership with the Doctoral Schools 4 and 20 It addressed art and art history students registered in a Specialised or In Depth Master or in a Doctorate Its aim was to supply students with both a histori cal framework and theoretical tools for exploring contemporary art practices For art students the more specific aim of the seminar was to allow them to situate their own practice in relation to their specific research to certain concepts characterising art criticism and to methods likely to help them understand their artistic
