12. Technical Explanation Driver 3 Counter Electromotive Feedback Control The DC motor with a permanent magnet if its shaft is rotated by an external force become a power generator which generates voltage in proportion to the speed This power generating function stands by even when the voltage is impressed to the motor and it is rotating This is called a counter electromotive The characteristics of the motor load can be improved by a feedback control if the counter electromotive can be detected and the speed of the motor can estimated The applied voltage was always kept constant in the voltage control method explained earlier so that the rotation decreased when a load was increased However if by comparing the counter electromotive and the speed setting voltage the applied voltage is raised to the extent that the rotation decreases the speed can be controlled so as to keep it as constant as possible irrespective of the load tordue This is a simple automatic control Oo Speed Command PWM Counter Electromotive Feedback Fig3 Counter Electromotive Feedback Circuit
