207. 4 Criteria regarding some border line products JBCE would like to comment on the criteria governing the status of some borderline products It should be noted that the equipment that is exempt from the WEEE directive according to these criteria should be exempt from the RoHS directive as well 1 Large stationary equipment Large stationary equipment that meets one or several of the following criteria should be considered to fall outside the scope of the WEEE directive a if it is fixed to a facility regardless of whether it is a factory or office b if its installation removal and dismantling needs professional skills c and if the equipment would not normally end up in the municipal waste stream anyway Examples of such equipment include large postal sorting machines please see attachment 2 welding machinery and factory automation equipment 2 Classification of air conditioners for household use and non household use Annex IB of WEEE Directive clearly categorizes large cooling appliances and air conditioner appliances as large household appliances There are no categories to which air conditioners for non household use can possibly belong It is thus obvious that air conditioners for non household use are not subject to the WEEE and RoHS directives We would now like to submit a more detailed proposal to underpin this position a Large cooling appliances are single package appliances with a cooling capacit
