4. 150 C 225 300 F Use care when removing the metal desiccant can from the oven Allow it to cool before handling Never place metal in a microwave oven Best results will occur if the can is covered by a drinking glass during the cooling period About the UV Sanitizing Cycle Ear molds and hearing aids harbor germs and bacteria The ultraviolet light in your Dry amp Store unit can kill such organisms and many users will experience reduced itching and irritation However Dry amp Store is not a sterilizer and the manufacturer makes no claims as to degree of bacterial kill Dry amp Store is not designed to diagnose prevent monitor treat or alleviate disease The UV lamp may be removed without affecting the drying capability as it is not part of the heating cycle Using Dry amp Store Global with Cochlear Implants Implant hardware must be kept dry to function properly and regular Dry amp Store use can eliminate moisture that accumulates from the environment and or perspiration For some Dry amp Store can make a significant difference in zinc air battery life especially in hot and humid weather Individual results will vary Here are some specific suggestions Rev B Behind the ear speech processors Leave zinc air batteries in the processor where applicable but remove the battery cover Place the processor headpiece and cable in the drying compartment on the right Do not put anything except the desiccant on the left

AC adapter into a non switched electrical outlet Your Dry amp Store is now ready for use Using Your Dry amp Store 1 Wipe excess moisture and earwax from your hearing aids before placing them in the drying chamber Open the lid and place your hearing instruments or implant hardware in the large compartment on the right You may leave the batteries in but open the battery cover to allow for air circulation 2 Close lid and gently press the lt on gt button Figure 6 Both the blue and the green indicators will illuminate The blue light will go off after three minutes indicating that the sanitizing cycle is over and the green light will stay on for the remainder of the eight hour cycle Times are approximate Best results come from an entire Dry amp Store cycle but conditioning can occur over periods as short as 30 minutes The timer is reset each time the lid is opened Rechargeable Canister Desiccant optional A small number of international configurations are shipped with a metal canister desiccant instead of a Dry Brik The protective label should be removed from both sides before use As moisture is adsorbed by the desiccant the indicator will change from orange to clear or from blue to light pink depending on the model The color change signals that the desiccant can no longer adsorb moisture To restore function place the metal can in a conventional not microwave oven for 2 hours or more at a temperature of 105
6. any components that may allow exposure to UV light e Ifthe lamp shatters unplug immediately Wear gloves when removing glass particles Dispose of properly e The AC adapter included with your unit is made specifically for this product Do not use it with another appliance and do not use an adapter from any other electrical device in its place NOTE Dry amp Store is not designed to diagnose prevent monitor treat or alleviate disease OPERATING CONDITIONS Dry amp Store Global operates at a temperature range of 97 to 104 F 36 to 40 C It will function properly at indoor ambient temperatures from 65 to 86 F 18 to 30 C SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Introduction Dry amp Store Global has been designed for all types of hearing instruments including hearing aids noise maskers ear monitors and cochlear implant equipment Used daily Dry amp Store removes damaging moisture accumulation dries earwax and sanitizes surfaces exposed to its germicidal lamp Dry amp Store will make most hearing instruments sound better and it can also extend zinc air battery life in high humidity locations Preparation for Use Important The moisture adsorbing Dry Brik desiccant must be properly activated and the power cord must be connected before the first use 1 Activate the desiccant A disposable Dry Brik which must be replaced every two months is included Using the pull tab remove the foil cover which activates the
7. bly faulty so return it to the place of purchase or service center for evaluation NOTE this condition does NOT indicate a bad UV lamp No blue light is visible during first three minutes of the operating cycle but the green light is on Check that the UV lamp is firmly positioned in its sockets If not remove and reposition the lamp then re start the unit with the lid closed tightly If the blue light does not illuminate during the first three minutes replace the UV lamp available from the place of purchase a service center or at www dryandstore com Replace it only with the special lamp provided by the manufacturer If both blue and green lights fail to light see No lights illuminate above Unit is noisy Noise problems are usually fan related Sound resonates inside the unit so some noise is to be expected even from the high quality ball bearing fan used in Dry amp Store If the fan noise varies in intensity or frequency disconnect the unit from power and check for obstructions If none have the unit serviced Lights illuminate but unit is not drying properly Has the Dry Brik been replaced regularly It is important that it be replaced every two months according to the instructions Check for fan movement If no fan sound can be heard return the unit to the place of purchase or service center for evaluation Metal bead inside UV lamp This is perfectly normal with bulbs made by Sankyo Denki or Ushio It is a result of t
8. desiccant Figure 1 Do not remove the foil until you are ready to use the Dry Brik because once it is removed the Dry Brik will begin adsorbing moisture 2 Start the Timestrip To alert you when it is time to replace the Dry Brik a timing device called Timestrip is included with each desiccant Start the timer by firmly pressing your thumb down on the bubble in the middle Figure 2 which releases a red dye into the timer window Other blunt objects such as the eraser end of a pencil may also be used Figure 3 Do not use a sharp object to activate the Timestrip Rev B When the Timestrip has been successfully activated a dark vertical line will be visible on the left end of the timer window within a few minutes If this line does not appear try again Each day the red strip will get a little longer fast at the beginning slow as it nears the end and at the end of two months the timer window will be completely red Replace it with a new Dry Brik at that time and dispose of the depleted Dry Brik in household refuse NOTE Starting the timer does NOT activate the Dry Brik It is activated when the foil is removed NOTE Your Dry amp Store will not work effectively unless the Dry Brik is changed every 2 months 3 Place the activated Dry Brik in Dry amp Store Global Figure 4 4 Connect the AC adapter The small circular plug fits into the rear of the unit Figure 5 Do not force it should slide in easily Finally plug the

11. ird mit jedem Trockenmittel ein Timer Timestrip genannt mitgeliefert Starten Sie den Timer indem Sie mit Ihrem Daumen fest auf die Blase in der Mitte dr cken Abbildung 2 Sie k nnen auch einen anderen stumpfen Gegenstand wie etwa einen Bleistift mit Radiergummi benutzen Abbildung 3 Verwenden Sie keinen spitzen Gegenstand um den Timestrip zu aktivieren Dadurch wird ein Farbstoff in das Timer Fenster freigesetzt ACHTUNG Der Dry Brik wird NICHT aktiviert wenn Sie den Timer starten Der Dry Brik wird nur aktiviert wenn die Folie entfernt ist Wurde der Timestrip erfolgreich gestartet erscheint innerhalb weniger Minuten eine dunkle vertikale Linie Erscheint diese Linie nicht versuchen Sie es bitte erneut Jeden Tag wird die rote Linie etwas l nger am Anfang schneller und langsamer gegen Ende und nach zwei Monaten ist das Timer Fenster komplett rot Ersetzen Sie den Dry Brik zu diesem Zeitpunkt durch einen neuen und entsorgen Sie den entleerten Dry Brik als Haushaltsm ll Legen Sie den Dry Brik in den Zephyr Abbildung 4 Schliessen Sie den AC Adapter an Der kleine runde Stecker passt in die R ckseite des Ger tes Abbildung 5 Zw ngen Sie ihn nicht hinein er sollte leicht hineingleiten Schliessen Sie zuletzt den AC Adapter an eine fest verbundene Steckdose an Ihr Dry amp Store ist jetzt gebrauchsbereit Wischen Sie bersch ssige Feuchtigkeit und Ohrenschmalz von Ihren H rger ten ab bevor Sie diese in die Trocken

13. n mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit wie dem Badezimmer in Betrieb setzen Halten Sie den Deckel stets geschlossen da die Wirksamkeit des Trockenmittels mit der Aufnahme von Feuchtigkeit aus der Umgebungsluft abnimmt Reinigen Sie das Ger t mit einem weichen Tuch Verwenden Sie keine scharfen Reinigungsmittel oder Schleifmittel Spritzen Sie keine Fl ssigkeiten in die Ablage oder auf die UV Lampe Leitfaden zur Fehlersuche e Nach dem pressen des on Knopfes ist kein Licht an den Lampen zu erkennen Ist der Deckel des Geraetes ganz geschlossen und wurde der on Knopf gedrueckt Wenn ja dann gehen Sie bitte sicher dass der AC Adapter ganz im Geraet eingesteckt ist und der Anschluss fest in der Steckdose Als naechstes koennen Sie einen neuen AC Adapter ausprobieren erhaeltlich bei dem Haendler wo Sie das Geraet gekauft haben oder bei www dryandstore com Bitte wechseln Sie Ihren AC Adapter nur mit einem neuen AC Adapter aus den sie von ihrem Haendler bekommen Falls das Geraet dann immer noch nicht startet kann es moeglich sein dass die Elektronik im Geraetinneren nicht mehr richtig funktioniert Bitte bringen Sie Ihr Geraet dann zurueck zu Ihrem Haendler so dass es dort untersucht werden kann ANMERKUNG Die UV Lampe in Ihrem Geraet ist NICHT fehlerhaft e Die blaue Lampe am Geraet ist in den ersten drei Minuten nach starten des Geraetes nicht zu erkennen aber die gruene Lampe ist an Vergewissern Sie sich dass die UV Lampe fest im Geraet verankert

16. rden RevB Die Verwendung von Dry amp Store Global mit Cochlear Implantaten Die Pflege mit Dry amp Store kann auch fiir die Hardware von Implantaten von Vorteil sein Beispielsweise kann die angesammelte Feuchtigkeit aus der Umgebung und oder der Transpiration die Leistung von Mikrofonen schw chen Besonders bei heissem und feuchtem Wetter kann der regelm ssige Gebrauch von Dry amp Store die Lebensdauer gewisser Zink Luft Batterien wesentlich beeinflussen Die Resultate sind von Fall zu Fall unterschiedlich Hier ein paar wichtige Empfehlungen e Hinter dem Ohr Sprachprozessoren Lassen Sie die Zink Luft Batterien im Prozessor wo anwendbar entfernen Sie aber die Batterieabdeckung Legen Sie den Prozessor das Kopfstiick und das Kabel in das Trockenfach rechts Legen Sie ausser dem Trockenmittel nichts in den linken Teil der Ablage e Am K rper getragene Sprachprozessoren Legen Sie so viele Bestandteile in das Trockenfach wie hineinpassen ohne es zu berf llen Der beschr nkte Platz kann zur Folge haben dass der Prozessor von der restlichen Hardware getrennt aufbereitet werden muss In diesem Fall sollte der Mikrofonteil h ufiger aufbereitet werden als der Prozessor weil er f r Feuchtigkeitssch den anf lliger ist Bei gewissen Prozessoren muss der Batteriesatz m glicherweise entfernt werden Pflege und Unterhalt Um ein einwandfreies Funktionieren des Dry amp Store zu gew hrleisten sollten Sie das Ger t nicht an Orte
