7. n motor starts return choke to running position 6 If engine starts then cuts out immediately return choke to running position and repeat pulling procedure 7 18 engine still fails to start begin over ayain et step Number 1 TR D STARTING WARM MOTOR 1 Choke may not have to be used Start off with pulling procedure 2 If engine fails to start after three pull begin procedure for cold motor CAUTION Do not race or rev motor when cold Starter cord reaches about 9 feet beyond back shelf Do not pull to maximum distance or damage may be dore to rece mechanism ane stripping will be required 10 rewind cord MAJOR STARTING TROUBLES AND REMEDIES Engine fails to start due to lack of fuel Check to insure ignition key is turned on fuel cock is open and fuel tank 8 not empty Otherwise TROUBLE A Fuel line blocked REMEDY A Clean fuel cock fuel lines and carburetor including idling and main orifices Engine fails to start due to excess fuel TROUBLE A Choke lever pulled to on position too long by mistake REMEDY A Remove spark plug and check electrodes If they are extremely wet engine is flooded Depress throttle lever to full or wide open and hold Return choke to running position Pull starter cable four or five times to flush out excess fuel Dry spark plug and return it Engine faits to start due to ignition trouble TROUBLE A Spark plug fouled damaged or of wrong type REMEDY A Clean and dry plug Adjust
