8. 5 0 0KB s The Monitor tab is divided into 2 sections Incoming Searches and Uploads Incoming Searches The Incoming Searches section shows search terms sent by the other Gnutella users This is a feature turned off by default Select the Enable checkbox to activate the Incoming Searches feature With Incoming Searches enabled you will see phrases stream across your screen These phrases represent queries that you are currently receiving from the Gnutella Network If you are not a designated Ultra peer you may see relatively few search terms Deselecting the Enable box will stop the display of these queries You can control the number of searches that are displayed by indicating a number limit in the box labeled Show last searches Uploads The Uploads section monitors upload activity Here you can see what files other Gnutella users are downloading from your Shared Directory The following column headers describe the files in the Uploads section e Name e Host IP address of the host downloading from you e Size e Status MP3Rocket Inc All rights reserved e Chat e Progress e Speed e Time Time it will take to complete the download Vendor Version the uploading host s Gnutella client Kill Upload cancels an upload in progress If someone is downloading a file from your shared directory you can halt the transfer by clicking this button Clear Inactive clears files that were disrupted completed o

Auto completion fills in the rest of a search query as you type with previous search queries so that you can quickly repeat searches without typing the entire text string MP3Rocket Inc All rights reserved Searching e Basic o You can set the maximum number of simultaneous searches you can perform We recommend that you keep this number to 5 or less because excessive searches will hurt the health of the gnutella network and cause everyone to have slower downloads and uploads o You also can choose whether or not you would like to be notified when downloading a file that does not contain a recognizable license MP3 Rocket currently recognizes Weed and Creative Commons licenses e Quality o You may choose to display the Quality of search results Four star results are highest and indicate that the host returning the result is not fire walled and has free upload slots e Speed o You can select the minimum speed of search results to display If you have a fast connection you may want to limit your search results to hosts with fast connections However if you are on a dial up modem you may want to see all speeds Filters e Keywords o Tofilter search results add a word or file extension to the Filter Results field Any result containing a word in the filter list will not be returned to you You can also filter out Adult Content html or htm files or vbs files e Hosts o To ban messages and search results from a specif

11. all files are stored in the same directory To display a specific type of file select Audio Video Documents Programs or Images under Saved Files To specify a download location for each media type go to Tools gt gt Options gt gt Saving For a list of extensions associated with each file type please see the Options section of this user guide The Incomplete Files folder shows files that were only partially downloaded and files that are currently being downloaded Please do not share partially downloaded files The Launch button opens a selected file If it is an audio file the MP3 Rocket Media Player will play the file Otherwise the file will be launched with your computer s default program for that file type Click Enqueue to add the selected file to the Play list The Delete button deletes the selected file s from your hard drive Using this button will PERMANENTLY delete the file s from your computer NOTE You must remove the file from the Play list in order for you to delete it The Describe button opens a window in which you can adjust a file s metadata tag This tag contains information about the file that can be used to organize files or make searches more specific The Refresh button updates the contents of the library to reflect any recent changes The Resume button allows you to resume incomplete downloads Select an incomplete file and click the Resume button to resume downloading The Explore butto

15. dent of their folder go to the Library and select a specific folder from the folder list in the left window and right click for sharing options Speed The Speed window allows you to set connection speed and Ultra peer capabilities For instance if you have recently switched from dialup to DSL you can change your settings here e Connection Speed is simply how fast you connect to the internet If you are using a dialup connection choose Modem e The Ultrapeer switch only applies to those with very high speed internet connections An Ultrapeer is a non fire walled high capacity servant that shields leaf nodes from the majority of messaging traffic Ultrapeers typically have up to 32 connections to other Ultrapeers and 32 leaf connections Basically an Ultrapeer allows other users with slower bandwidth to have a better experience searching and downloading on the Gnutella network This technology reduces bandwidth requirements for most users but increases the requirement for the Ultra peer Downloads e Maximum Downloads sets a limit on the number of files you can download simultaneously After the download limit has been reached pending downloads will be queued until active downloads are completed Toautomatically delete the file names of completed downloads select Clear Downloads If you do not activate Clear Downloads you will need to press the Clear Inactive button in your Downloads panel to delete the names of completed do
