1. iy A JLN Ne nN s Cael wD IN Repeater Troubleshooting Guide JORTH AS A oe lt If your repeater is no longer working please follow the procedures outlined below to aid us in fault finding the repeater 1 Visually inspect the repeater solar panel antenna and associated cables for any obvious signs of damage 2 If your repeater has a power switch please cycle this switch Test the repeater using two available handheld radios Examples of TNC remote repeaters 3 With the power switch in the off position remove the fuse located in the front panel of the repeater if equipped and in the positive and or negative leads from the battery to the solar charge controller The solar charge controller is centrally located within the enclosure It can be located by tracing the battery leads from the battery to the next device Inspect these fuses visually or test with a multi meter for continuity If any of these fuses are blown replace them with a fuse of the same rating spare fuses will be located in the repeater enclosure 4 Switch the repeater back on and check its operation with 2 handheld radios 5 If you have a voltage meter use this to test the battery voltage across the terminals labelled Batt and Batt on the solar charge controller You should see 10 5V or more across these terminals depending on the battery charge SEE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION CAUTION DO NOT REVERSE BAT2. TERY PLUS AND MINUS CONNECTIONS DAMAGE WILL RESULT Solar Charge Controller 6 If the battery voltage is lower than 10 5V remove the plug connecting the solar panel to the enclosure and measure the voltage across the brass receptacle and the other silver receptacles You should measure a voltage of more than 15V across two of these receptacles 7 Phone Total North Communications on 867 668 5175 Pass the information gathered from the above tests to a technician
