5. ca VOL This will display the volume setting of the band selected You can not change the setting but it is useful to see the setting in case the volume at the radio was inadvertently set to zero etc CHAN The current channel number will be displayed Pressing MUP or MDN will scroll through the available channels DIM The display brightness level will be shown for the RC 6000 The radio brightness level will be shown on its display This is the only time that the RC 6000 display may be different than the TDFM 600 6000 display NUM LOCK In this mode the keys become number keys instead of their usual functions This condition exists on both the remote and the transceiver FUNCTION KEYS Function keys F1 through F4 operate the same as on the TDFM 600 6000 transceiver F5 and F6 are for future development and have no function at this time SHIFT KEY The shift key is also for future development DISPLAY The RC 6000 has a two line 48 character LED display which gives information about the selected band On the top line is shown the zone number channel name and rotary knob function The bottom line displays the soft key menu the band selected and the ESW TSW condition Also displayed are letters and symbols indicating scan direct repeater talk around monitor secure priority and call In addition to the character display there are two LED indicators on the left The top LED indicates a signal is being received on the selected ba

E Transponder ramp test set and adjust the output until the flags are out of view The transponder and encoder should be monitored with ramp test equipment Set the output of the transponder test set to 3db above the output necessary to achieve 9096 reply If possible set the ADF to a nearby navigation station Switch the RC 6000 on and off as often as required Observe the GPS for any degradation in satellite status or availability or flags Listen for any noise or detected audio signals on the VHF commis Listen for any noise or detected audio signals on the VOR LOC receiver audio look for any moment of flags or needles on the VOR LOC GS navigation display s List the power plant fuel and other electric instruments not already in the chart provided and note any anomalies that occur due to operation of the RC 6000 Assess the results If the aircraft is equipped with an autopilot or a stability augmentation system then test fly the aircraft and verify that operation of the RC 6000 does not have adverse effects on these systems After checking for gross effects at a safe altitude fly a coupled ILS approach and look for any anomalies RC 6000 Installation amp Operating Instructions TiL O2RE299 Rev A Issue 3 3 5 TECHNISONIC INDUSTRIES LIMITED www til ca 3 7 4 RESULTS If the installed system passes all of the applicable EMI tests then no further action is required If interference is observed then the interference must be assessed against

13. nd while the bottom LED indicates that any one or more of the installed bands are transmitting The display is always a direct copy of what is showing on the display of the radio except when editing the brightness setting GENERAL OPERATION Switch on the RC 6000 by pressing the ON key TECHNISONIC along with the firmware version will be displayed and then the self test If the transceiver is already on the normal screen will appear and the unit is ready to use If the radio is off or is not connected the display will show CONNECTING until the radio is detected If the TDFM 600 6000 and RC 6000 are on the same power switch then the connecting message will be seen for a few seconds since the radio takes longer to start up The RC 6000 operates like the radio except for the functions previously mentioned In the case where the pilot and the remote operator select a function at the same time the radio front panel has priority and therefore the pilot has control No special settings have to be changed on the TDFM 600 6000 in order for the remote to work nor does the radio care whether the remote is there The remote does not have to be switched on for the radio to work RC 6000 Installation amp Operating Instructions TiL O2RE299 Rev A Issue 3 2 2 TECHNISONIC INDUSTRIES LIMITED www til ca SECTION 3 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 3 1 GENERAL This section contains information and instructions for the correct installation of the
