ION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SECTION 4 How To Get The Best From The System Health and Safety All Health and Safety PPE COSHH and safe working practices must be followed throughout the Dry Fusion carpet cleaning process A Risk Assessment must be prepared before each cleaning assignment takes place It is the responsibility of each operator to ensure that Health and Safety regulations are complied with The following instructions are for general guidance and instruction only Vacuuming It is essential that all carpeted areas to be cleaned receive a thorough vacuuming with a commercial twin motor vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush unit If practical and within Health and Safety guidelines move all moveable items from within the cleaning area Vacuum the cleaning area by moving in an east to west and north to south direction Traffic lane and entrance areas will require greater attention Ensure that a crevice tool is used to remove all dust and debris from the skirting board and door jams Cleaning Operation Normal to Heavy Soil Dry Fusion Pre Spray Unit Accurately measure 1 part ACTIVATOR to 4 parts hot water 500ml to 2 litres and place the solution inside your Dry Fusion stainless steel pressure sprayer Secure central unit and pump until you reach 3 5 bar pressure Apply an even spray of the solution across 15 20 square metres of pre vacuumed carpet and allow to dwell for 5 10 minutes Important It is

3. d apply one or 2 drops of 3 in 1 oil Do not over apply as this may cause seepage from base of handle 4 Check electrical leads for any sign of damage or wear and tear The following 2 pages contain a detailed breakdown of the Dry Fusion machine parts diagram and part numbers Page 13 Version 1 LJ 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SECTION 7 CONDITIONAL WARRANTY When a warranty repair is justified Dry Fusion UK welcomes such repair by any of its authorised Service Centres In most circumstances the requests for warranty brought to the attention of our service division or agents are handled in a prompt routine manner with no question of there validity However some requests for warranty are received which are not justified In these cases machine owners will be made aware that the premature failure of their equipment was the result of abuse neglect or other cause not covered by warranty The Dry Fusion warranty covers only DEFECTIVE MATERIAL and or DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP It does not cover labour Your machine is warranted for 12 months from the date of purchase by the original user against faulty workmanship or material The warranty only covers the replacement repair or adjustment of any part which in the opinion of Dry Fusion UK fails as a result of a fault in manufacture or assembl
4. essential that you allow the pre spray time to dwell as the solution is designed to wet out the fibre and remove staining and soiling Take care not to allow the solution to dry Five Ten minutes is sufficient dwell time for an area of 15 20 square metres Page 7 Version 1 E 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Ringer Vessel Accurately measure 1 part ACTIVATOR to 4 parts hot water 500ml to 2 litres and place the solution inside your ringer vessel Wearing gloves take your 460 mm 18 Dry Fusion Pad and dip into the hot solution wringing out to almost dry and place it onto the heaviest soil area Quickly wheel the Dry Fusion machine fitted with the aluminium drive plate and spread the moisture in the pad by moving side to side to an area approximating 15 20 sq metres East to West Don t let the machine rest on the pad prior to starting as it can over wet the patch Next move the machine across the direction of the previous pass to clean the other side of the fibre North to South Keep repeating the padding process double or even triple passing and heeling the machine on heavily stained areas and to assist drying The pad can be reversed to assist in cleaning and speed up drying time Should the pad start to dry the machine will start to slow down and at this point a new pad should be used Impor
5. her surfaces or electrical sockets Do not use excessive solution 10 Allow pre spray 5 10 minutes to penetrate fibres and soiling 11 Take a Dry Fusion standard pad from ringer vessel ring out excess moisture and place on floor Page 10 Version 1 LJ Clear Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION 12 Switch the machine element to 85C place on to Dry Fusion standard pad and pass the machine quickly over the sprayed area to ensure an even distribution of solution Avoid any loose floor tiles or ripped carpet 13 Continue cleaning action using systematic overlapping passes in an east to west and then north to south directions with the machine covering the area that has been sprayed Use further passes on areas with persistent stains 14 Once you have completed the area turn over the pad to continue drying the cleaned area following an east to west and north to south direction 15 Repeat the procedure stages 8 to 12 as required until whole carpet area is cleaned 16 When the task is completed place the machine with handle on the floor turn electrical socket off and unplug equipment Leave machine to cool 17 Clean and return all items to store Remove base plate from the machine and place inside ringer vessel Ensure drive plate is cold before removing 18 Store used pads separately in the pad holdal

7. l these must be machine washed at a later date 19 Remove warning signs Safety amp Control Check electrical equipment in particular plugs and cable Discontinue use if faulty and report to Line Manager Do not plug in either machine until they have been assembled correctly Machine Cable must be kept behind machines at all times to avoid being caught up in the machine or tripped over Do not allow cables to become taut at ankle level When not in use leave the machine handle in the upright position Follow COSHH instructions on safe use of chemicals Page 11 Version 1 LJ Clear Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SECTION 6 MACHINE MAINTENANCE General The machine s effective and powerful performance is so simple to operate and control that outstanding efficiency is achieved with the minimum of effort As with all rotary machines however they can be misused or overloaded The following situations are examples which can cause this misuse 1 Using pads that are clogged with dirt or using non approved cleaning solutions 2 Using very long extension leads and or leads of insufficient current capacity or where the building has a low mains voltage condition or faulty power points This reduces the power to the motor and causes overheating and possible burn out 3 Switching on and off too freq
8. larly A dry pad can be used on carpet just treated if too much moisture has been applied Never use a dry pad on Olefin amp Polypropylene fibres Stairs Dry vacuum using a Dry Fusion Turbo brush unit then spray apply 1 to 4 solution of Activator or Restore Using the Dry Fusion Stair Machine place a pre moistened stair pad on to the machine base and allow the machine to oscillate over the carpet The machine can be used to clean the rise and fall within the staircase A new pad should be applied every 3 4 stairs A dry pad can be used to speed up drying time Hand Pads rotating similar to the machine method can be used to remove soil Important Always work from the top of the stairs with the cable behind you and the unit plugged in at the bottom of the stairs Vacuum and clean in a safe manner that allows you to retain stability at all times The kneeling position is advisable as a safe manner of working Finishing Edges Use an Edging Pad or Dry Fusion Hand Pads Always use a pile rake on cut pile or Axminster to help lift pile resist shading and speed drying Stain Removal Dry Fusion can remove approximately 9096 of all stains within a carpet On occasions however you may need to treat more persistent and difficult stains using one or more of the specialist stain removers such as Grease Release Coffee Break Sensation Browning Treatment or Trusty A specialist spotting chart is enclosed on the following page In addition Unbelie
9. s about to take place To secure the drive plate in place tip the power unit back and align the lips from drive plate to those on the underside of the power unit and twist into place Place the complete unit over the cleaning pad damp and switch on Page4 Version 1 E 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SECTION 3 USE OF MACHINE Step 1 Adjusting the Handle and Control of Solution a Control of Handle Height The trigger on the right hand side controls the height of the handle arm The comfortable operating angle is 45 degrees to the ground b Control of Solution The shot of steam unit is mounted onto the handle of the Dry Fusion machine Prime the line before starting to clean and press the lever on top of the bottle to inject a shot onto trouble spots or heavily stained areas during the cleaning process Step2 Setting the Temperature Control Temperature control is obtained by using the dial on the top of the power unit best operating temperature is 85 degrees maximum Reduce this for carpets such as Polypropylene Step3 Switching Machine ON In order to switch the machine on you will first have to PRESS the grey safety button found at the rear of the handle and marked PRESS at the same time squeezing either the left or right small triggers The machine will start to work Step4 Swit
10. tant Change pads approximately every 15 to 20 sq metres depending on the soiling of the carpet Never place a soiled pad back in to the ringer vessel as this will contaminate the solution Do not spray the pads as this will not provide sufficient cleaning solution to create the standard of cleaning or protection required Extra Heavy Soilage Restorative Deep Clean Restore System Rather than use a stronger solution or apply too much solution via the pads that could over wet the fibres we recommend pre spraying with Restore Use a 1 to 8 solution of Re ACT at the rate of approximately 500ml per 20sq metre This combined with the Dry Fusion Restore Brush will improve the stain and soil removing performance and not affect drying time You can then continue to clean with the pad system and Activator as per the instructions under Ringer Vessel Important Do not use the restore brush unit on Wool Berber or loop pile carpets that may be damaged by the bristles Page 8 Version 1 E 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Shot of Steam For machines fitted with Shot of Steam Fill bottles with 1 to 4 ACTIVATOR apply to heavily stained areas that you have already cleaned and are in the process of drying out Do not use this as the only method of applying ACTIVATOR Solution pads must be soaked and changed regu
11. uently max 4 times per minute The erratic starting of the machine or clicking sound when running under load particularly when using a pad on high load applications often indicate the above conditions Whenever any of these conditions arise or when there IS doubt your Dry Fusion representative should be consulted The motor units of the Dry Fusion series are designed for long periods of use In all conditions of service particularly when using water it is absolutely essential that a perfect connection exist between the machine and the supply earth system Page 12 Version 1 LJ P Clear Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Service amp Repair It is recommended that your Dry Fusion machine is serviced within a 12 24 month period depending on the degree of use The following maintenance procedures should however be completed daily or weekly 1 Remove lint or carpet fibres from the drive plate grippers by using a Dry Fusion pad scraper This prevents damage to the grippers and stops the pads from slipping during cleaning operations Do not use sharp or metal objects as this will damage the gripper spikes 2 Remove any carpet fibres from inlet section at rear of heater unit red unit fixed to base You must also ensure that the black vent is open 3 Remove Philips screw No 57 from base of handle an
12. vable can be used by the householder cleaning contractor or facilities team to remove stains on a daily basis and in between periodical maintenance cleans Page 9 Version 1 E 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au nv FUSION No 1 FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Section 5 Method Statement Equipment amp PPE Dry Fusion machine Drive plate and Dry Fusion pads Beater bar vacuum cleaner Dry Fusion cleaning solutions Activator Re act and Bactoshield dilute as instructed Stainless Steel Sprayer Ringer Vessel RCD Socket Safety Signs Procedure 1 Assemble equipment 2 Put out warning signs covering all doorways to the area 3 Carry out electrical safety checks on all equipment 4 Plug Reo unit into electrical socket Plug machine into RCD 5 Thoroughly vacuum the whole area of carpet to be cleaned 6 Prepare solution of Re Act in spray canister according to manufacturers instructions pump spray canister until desired pressure is created 7 Prepare a solution of Activator according to manufacturers instructions and place inside ringer vessel Place Dry Fusion standard pad inside ringer vessel and leave to soak 8 Check carpet for any damaged areas that will require cleaning by hand clean by hand as necessary using spray solution and cloths 2 9 Spray a fine mist of Re Act over an area of about 20m taking care not to spray ot
13. y In the case of hire companies or similar using the unit to rent on a casual basis then 3 months from the date of purchase shall apply This warranty does not cover service calls travelling time consumable parts such as drive belts power cables plugs bumper rails capacitors dust bags flexible hoses nozzles gripper pads etc In the case of a proprietary component used by the manufacturer in his product such as electrical motors etc Dry Fusion will only pass on any warranty given by the manufacturer of these items Accidental damage is not covered by warranty Fair wear and tear is not covered by warranty Only Dry Fusion approved cleaning solutions are to be used in or with the Dry Fusion machine because of the special lubricating effect Dry Fusion equipment must only use Dry Fusion chemicals Warranty is voided by use of non approved cleaning solutions All charges in freight to and from the manufacturer agent or service centre will be the responsibility of the owner Repairs carried out by any person other than an authorised Dry Fusion repairer will void the warranty A charge for travelling time and labour will be applicable for on site warranty service We only offer a return to base warranty Page 14 Version 1 Q9 E 29 Unit 3 76 Regentville Road Penrith New South Wales 2750 Phone 02 47211993 Website www rapidclean com au
