Replacement of wear parts Shaking grate As regards skantherm chimney stoves with a shaking grate first loosen the nut serving to fasten the shaking grate rods prior to loosening the four screws located in the corners of the shaking grate Now the two piece shaking grate can be removed through the fire chamber opening Sealing band The sealing band is due for replacement when the fire chamber door does not close tightly any more or when the sealing band is worn After removal of the old sealing band the grooves for the sealings have to be cleaned from any glue residues before a streak of glue is applied onto the groove bottom and the new Sealing band can be placed Please close the door so as to enable the glue to dry for several hours see glue specific instructions for use Heating gas deflection plate Please see under CLEANING Glass Loosen all screws on the inner frame and remove frame before removing the old glass and inserting the new glass When refastening the inner frame make sure that the screws are evenly and gently tightened crosswise in turn in order to prevent the glass from breaking due to unilateral or excessive pressure Sealing bands of the glass pane should also be renewed Fire chamber lining If a vermiculite plate is burned out or broken just note its dimensions to order a new one for replace ment All you need is to unhook the metal frame resting on the front edges of the lining and insert the replacement slab
