15. to Invert Sensor Data Trivinci Systems LLC Race Keeper System User Guide v1 1 02 January 2011 Page 24 of 63 RACE KEEPER Tach Input Race Keeper s tach input cable connects a tach signal from your vehicle s ignition system to the digital tach input on the Race Keeper system The tach data signal should be a clean square wave nominally 0 5v The tach cable contains a protection circuit to ensure the Race Keeper system isn t damaged if the input signal from the ignition system is too powerful or contains electrical noise e f you re using Race Keeper SE connect the bare wire to tach signal on the vehicle and connect the RJ 45 connector into the bottom right port on the Race Keeper system e If you re using Race Keeper HE connect the bare wire to tach signal on the vehicle and connect the sensor input connector to the Sensor input loom Race Keeper SE Tach Input Cable Race Keeper HE Tach Input Cable Race Keeper Comparo manages calibration of the tach input signal Once an outing has been recorded with the tach cable connected the tach data will appear as an available data channel in Race Keeper Comparo which you can calibrate by right clicking on the RPM channel name and selecting the number of pulses per two engine revolutions Once the number of pulses has been selected verify the RPM readings on the data trace are correct If they are not modify the pulse value until the correct RPM data range is seen Trivinci Systems
