HEPA TYPE FILTER HEPA High Efficiency Particulate Air filters are designed to remove up to 99 of airborne pollutants at 2 microns or larger from the air that passes through them These include tobacco smoke household dust pet dander and pollen HIGH MEDIUM AND LOW SPEED SETTINGS For optimum air filtration operate your Bionaire air cleaner continuously on the MEDIUM II setting Its rugged motor has been designed to give many years of use For quieter operation Such as in a bedroom select the LOW 1 setting When high levels of air pollution are present select the HIGH Ill setting to quickly circulate and filter the room air DUAL POSITION Your air cleaner can sit upright on its side Make sure the air inlet and outlets are not blocked to ensure maximum airflow BEFORE USE 1 Carefully unpack your Air Cleaner Select a firm level place where there are no obstructions to the air inlet or filtered air outlet 2 lf the filter is covered by a bag when shipped remove plastic bag before use and place filters into unit Refer to Figures 1 and 2 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Plug into a 120V AC electrical outlet 2 Select the operating speed of HIGH II MEDIUM II or LOW 1 by turning the speed control knob to the appropriate setting You will notice the Power Indicator Light 4 will illuminate when the Air Cleaner is turned on See Figure 1 for reference 3 To release negative ions2. BAP26008EM1 qxd 9100040003477 8 8 08 3 08 PM Page 1 CLEANING MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning 1 The outside of the air cleaner can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth 2 The front air inlet grill can be removed and washed in warm soapy water not dishwasher safe Dry before replacing in the unit 3 The rear air grill can be cleaned with a small soft brush WARNING Do not allow moisture to come in contact with the main housing of the air cleaner FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT e NOTE DO NOT attempt to wash and re use the HEPA type filter e f the HEPA type filters are enclosed in plastic bags remove before use NOTE Every few weeks check the condition of filters Filter life will vary depending on air quality and usage Under normal conditions of continuous use the HEPA type filter will operate efficiently for 3 6 months To replace your filter 1 Turn off and unplug the air cleaner 2 Open the air inlet grill and examine the foam prefilter Remove any dust or lint and wash in warm soapy water Rinse drip dry and place back into grill inlet 3 Remove HEPA type filter from the unit by pulling it gently towards you and discard it DO NOT attempt to clean the old HEPA type filter 4 Install the new BAPF3O filter into the unit NOTE The pleated material and rubber gasket should be facing towards the unit when applied 5 Replace air inlet grill Fil

TO KNOW YOUR AIR CLEANER e Your Bionaire air cleaner features a HEPA Type filter that removes up to 99 of airborne dust and pollen as small as 2 microns and helps reduce smoke mold spores and pet dander from the air passing through the filter e Arm amp Hammer baking soda and carbon help absorb and eliminate household odors e Optional ionizer naturally improves performance and helps freshen the air AD ay IONIZER This appliance has an optional ionizer feature which when turned on releases negative ions into outgoing filtered air to help the air purification process What Are lons lons are tiny particles that carry a positive or negative charge They exist naturally around us in the air water and ground Both positive and negative ions are colorless odorless and harmless How Does The lonizer Work Negative ions help air purification by attaching themselves to very small airborne particles in the room These particles take on a negative charge and may join with positively charged particles such as dust pollen smoke and pet dander to form larger particles These larger particles are then more easily captured by the filter system Important Notes Your ionizer may produce an occasional popping or cracking sound This is normal and occurs when a small buildup of ions is discharged After extended use you may notice dust around the grills or front panel This is caused by negative ions exi
