Model ID180 3 Close the battery compartment door securely LOW BATTERY INDICATOR If the indicator appears in the display you need to replace the batteries It is important that you replace the batteries as soon as possible to guarantee reception of the Caller ID signals When you replace the batteries your Caller ID unit retains stored information for up to approx 270 seconds It is still a good idea to write down information that you do not want to lose and please do not press any buttons on the unit After installing the battery press the CALL BACK button to restart the unit IV Installation vV 1 2 IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface User caution when installing or modifying telephone lines INSTALLING YOUR CALLER ID UNIT 1 Plug a telephone line cord into LINE jack on the back of the Caller ID unit and into the modular jack on the wall 2 Plug another telephone line cord into the PHONE jack on the back of the unit and into the telephone Operation Setting Language Press and hold the UP key for 5 seconds The unit enters language setting mode To select the language press UP and the language is display at the bottom of left hand side Press UP until you find the correct language T
2. erase the entire list at once a Press UP or DOWN key to display any data b Press and hold the DELETE key for more than 4 5 seconds the entire list except the call after the name editing is erased c The call after the name editing can be erased one by one follow the procedure to erase one stored call Add Edit Name in Call log Press UP or DOWN key to select a call for the editing Press and Hold the CALL BACK keys for 2 seconds to enter editing mode The cursor is placed on the first digit of 3rd line Press UP or DOWN key to select a letter A B C including spacing Keep press the buttons 2 seconds for fast advance Press DELETE key to delete the letter at cursor position If the letter in cursor position is blank press DELETE key will back delete one letter Press CALL BACK key to shift the cursor in right direction Repeat step c e to input other letters After finish editing press CALL BACK key for 2 seconds to exit Remark i ii iii All the calls in call log can be set letters in their name field Full set of ASCII CODE Maximum 50 calls can be edited and set with the name The calls that are modified the name field are erase protected This means that they will not be erased automatically when the call log is full If you want to erase this call you have to follow the step for erasing one stored call In editing mode if no key

User Manual for the Caller ID Model ID180 I I Introduction The Caller ID unit stores and display specific information provided by your local telephone company to subscribers of Caller ID or similar Caller Identification services You must subscribe to one of these services in order to use this unit Your Caller ID unit enables you to Identify callers before you answer the phone View the time and date of each incoming call Record up to 80 incoming calls sequentially Knows who called while you were away REMINDER This product requires a subscription to Caller ID service from your telephone company Before you begin PARTS CHECK LIST Make sure your package includes manual and the following items Telephone line cord Batteries Caller ID unit MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENT You need an RJ11 CA11A type modular jack which is the most common type of phone jack and might look like the one pictured here If you don t have a modular jack call your local phone company to find out how to get one installed HI Power the Caller ID unit INSTALLING THE BATTERIES Disconnect the line cords from back of the unit and wait a few seconds for the unit to go into standby 1 Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment door located under the unit 2 Insert three AAA batteries as shown on the diagram in the battery compartment Please note the correct positioning and User Manual for the Caller ID
4. here are four type of language include with this unit It shows English language when the unit is power up ENGLISH Setting Area Code Press the CALL BACK the unit move to AREA CODE SETTING the LCD will display as below User Manual for the Caller ID Model ID180 AREA CODE a Press UP button to increase the number in sequence Press DOWN for shifting digits c When you finish the setting or aren t necessary for area code setting press CALL BACK button to enter Area Prefix setting The LCD will display as below AREA PREFIX Repeat step a amp b e After setting press CALL BACK button again the unit enters to setting Clock mode 3 Setting Clock 01 12 12 00 00 00 NEW TOTAL a Press UP key for adding the number Press DOWN for moving the cursor to next digit b When the setting is completed press the CALL BACK to finish setting 4 Status Indications OUT OF AREA The call is made through a telephone company which does not offer Caller ID service Including long distance and international calls PRIVATE The caller did not want the number to be shown on the Caller ID unit NEW This shows the number of new calls TOTAL This shows the total of calls PICK UP HANDSET When you redial the number the caller ID inform you must pick up the handset or switch on the speaker p
5. hone on the parallel telephone ERROR There is an error message received TOP OF LIST The beginning of the list END OF LIST The end of the list RPT This show the call is a repeat call The unit will keep the latest call and replaced the last call This means that the powers of the batteries is low 5 Viewing the Caller ID list When the unit is power up the first time or after replace the battery The display will show as below User Manual for the Caller ID Model ID180 01 12 12 00 00 00 NEW TOTAL This unit automatically stores the data of last 99 calls with number only or 75 calls with Name and Number received Press UP button The display shows the previous older data of call When the oldest data is viewed TOP OF LIST will appear on the display Press DOWN button the display shows the next newer data of call When the newest data is viewed END OF LIST will appear on the display 6 Erasing data from the Caller ID list This unit maintains the data in the memory If there is a new call under the full memory condition the earliest data will be automatically erased and the new call will be stored Te a b c d e f g To erase one stored call either with name or without name at a time a Press UP or DOWN key to display the data you want to erase b Press the DELETE keys for twice continuously the displayed data will be erased To
6. pressed for 30 seconds the device will return to standby display automatically User Manual for the Caller ID Model ID180 DHCD DDH DCDCDC DEC DHCD CDH DHCD OOOO OR ORO OOOO NORCO OK 8 Calling back a number from the Caller ID list a Press UP or DOWN key to select the number you wish to dial b Press the CALL BACK key the unit will automatically dial the number displayed Each number will show up when it dials out c Pick up your telephone VI Troubleshooting tips 1 No dial tone on the phone attached to the Caller ID unit Check all cabling to make sure that all connections are secure 2 No display Check for proper battery installation 3 No information is shown after the phone rings No data appears in the display if no Caller ID signal has been detected or Caller ID service has not been activated by your local telephone company 4 Error message is display ERROR appears in the display if the unit defects anything other than valid Caller ID information during the silent period after the first ring This message has been sent from the telephone company
