1. 7 EtherSound IN OUT Connectors These are RJ 45 connectors that you can connect to other EtherSound devices or to a computer using an Ethernet cable Use AVS ESMonitor AuviTran s application software to make settings for control and or digital audio signal transmission and reception NOTE e Use RJ 45 connectors that are compatible with Neutrik s etherCON CAT5 e Use an STP Shielded Twisted Pair cable to prevent electromagnetic interference Also firmly fasten the metal portion of the connector to the shield of the cable using conductive tape etc For more details on EtherSound specifications and the length of available cables refer to the following website http www ethersound com MY16 ES64 Owner s Manual Installation information Please refer to the owner s manual supplied with the host device for installation information As well as securing the card in place the fixing screws at the left and right of the card function as electrical grounds Be sure to screw them in tightly Accessories Owner s Manual HA REMOTE YAMAHA EtherSound INTERFACE CARD MODEL MY16 ES64 Ether Sound gt 2 NEXT 16 IN JAPAN About AVS ESMonitor AVS ESMonitor is application software made by the AuviTran SARL for the purpose of monitoring and controllin2. A CAUTION Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of physical injury to you or others or damage to the device or other property These precautions include but are not limited to the following e Be sure to properly ground the host device to prevent electrical shock and or malfunction e Do not touch the metallic leads pins of the circuit board when handling the card The pins are sharp and may cause hand cuts e Wear a pair of heavy gloves during installation to avoid scratching or cutting your hands on sharp edges e Avoid touching exposed connectors and metal parts to minimize the possibility of bad connections e Drain all static electricity from your clothing and body before handling the card Static electricity can damage the card Touch an exposed metal part of the host device or other grounded object beforehand e Do not drop the card or subject it to physical shock as this can result in breakage and or malfunction e Do not drop screws or other small parts inside the card If power is applied while screws or similar metal objects are loose inside the unit the card may malfunction or be damaged If you cannot retrieve dropped objects yourself refer the problem to qualified Yamaha service personnel Yamaha cannot be held responsible for damage caused by improper use or modifications to the device or data that is lost or destroyed e The illustrations as shown i

OTE e Use an STP Shielded Twisted Pair cable to prevent electromagnetic interference Using a UTP Unshielded Twisted Pair cable may cause noise or cut off sound Also be sure to attach the ferrite core included with the MY16 EX to a location close to the cable plug connected to the NEXT MY16 EX OUT connector e Do not use cables that feature protective boots for their plugs as they could come in contact with the cable connected to the HA REMOTE connector ENGLISH Set these switches as appropriate for your situation and for the device in which the card is installed 1 Signals via HA REMOTE Connector SW1 Mode Position RS 232C 232 RS 422 422 Typically set this switch to the 422 position When you connect the HA REMOTE connector to a computer set this switch to the 232 position 2 Sampling Frequency SW2 Mode Position 44 1 48 kHz 48K 88 2 96 kHz 96K NOTE This card supports only Double Speed mode when running at 88 2 96kHz Double Channel mode is not supported Card ID SW3 Mode Position Emulation Emu Native Nat Typically set this switch to the Emu position If you set this switch to the Emu position and switch SW2 to the 48K position the host device will recognize the card as a Yamaha MY16 AT digital I O card If you set this switch to the Emu position and switch 2 S

15. g an EtherSound system It allows you to make various EtherSound settings such as input output routing For details refer to the following web site http www auvitran com 2 IN OUT TX RX Indicators Each corresponding indicator blinks when EtherSound IN OUT connectors transmit or receive signals When the Identify button for the MY16 ES64 is selected from the AVS ESMonitor all four of these indicators blink and will continue blinking until selected a second time 3 HA REMOTE Connector This is a D sub 9 pin connector that enables remote control of a Yamaha AD8HR or AD824 AD converter via EtherSound In most situations you will connect to the REMOTE connector of the host device using a serial cross cable If you use a host device such as Yamaha digital mixer LS9 which is capable of remotely controlling directly via a slot connection you do not need to connect this HA REMOTE connector to the host device O NEXT MY16 EX IN NEXT MY16 EXOUT Connectors These RJ 45 connectors can be connected via an Ethernet cable 5 or higher category to the MASTER SIDE E Switches Part Names and Functions IN or MASTER SIDE OUT connector of the Yamaha MY16 EX I O expansion card for transmission and reception of the audio and word clock signals N
