1. Services Edition 5 3 User Guide Set Up Temporary and Jobs Network Shares 1 2 Log into the ArcServer host with an administrator account Create a folder on the ArcServer host that both ESE and ArcGIS for Server software can access The example here uses the C Users Public folder which should exist on most ArcServer hosts running on Windows 2008 Server Using this folder is preferable if the ArcServer service account is a local account in which case the ESE service account must be a network account If you are using a different operating system than Windows 2008 server you may need to identify another folder to use for sharing Create a temporary directory and a jobs directory within this folder on the ArcServer host These are the network shares For example C Users Public AppData Local Temp C Users Public arcgisserver directories arcgisjobs The folders after Cc Users Public can be anything you want the examples just show the default paths Ensure Read and Write Access to the Directories In these steps you will ensure that the user account that runs ArcGIS for Server software and the user account that runs ESE have read and write access to the temporary and jobs network shares This example assumes the use of Windows Server 2008 adjust the steps as needed for a different operating system 1 goe w N Log on to the ArcServer host with an administrative account Right click on the Public folder and select Sh
