8. lity for results obtained or damage incurred from the use of this material either in whole or in part by the buyer O This manual will give you basic instructions for the installation of the product in a step by step sequence that will work in most types of installations If you have an installation application that is not covered in this manual please call your local Swanstone distributor or contact The Swan Corporation directly for additional information about your application O Follow all installation instructions Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injuries water damage or other damage to floors pipes walls or other portions of your building or home 800 325 7008 Installation Procedure Soap Dish Installation The soap dish is a corner mount design The soap dishes can be stacked in one corner or placed in opposite corners Note The current production soap dish is molded with a square corner as shown in the illustrations This shape requires installation of the optional corner molding after installation of the soap dish If your kit contains a sculpted corner soap dish the optional corner molding should be installed before the soap dish When the current stock of sculpted corner soap dishes is exhausted this design will no longer be available Cleaning Wall Panel AWARNING Fumes Hazard A The fumes from the silicone and SA solvents used by the installer can be harmful if used in an u
9. lways use an OSHA approved dust mask when cutting drilling or sanding Swanstone products 3 Dry fit the soap dish prior to applying clear silicone If the wall is not exactly 90 degrees square it will be necessary to sand the sides of the soap dish in order to achieve proper fit using a course grit 60 grit sandpaper 4 Apply clear silicone to the edge of the soap dish The Swan Corporation Swanstone Align the soap dish with the level lines and press it into place Hold the soap dish securely in place and wipe off excess Clear silicone You will want a uniform bead on both top and bottom Temporarily secure the soap dish with masking tape as shown Remove the tape after approximately two hours Do not place anything on the soap dish for at least 24 hours 800 325 7008 Installation Procedure Installation of Sculpted Corner Soap Dish If installing the sculpted corner soap dish the optional corner molding should be installed before the soap dish is installed Once the corner molding is in place proceed with Steps 1 through 7 of the Installation of the Square Corner Soap Dish section The following illustrations show the sculpted corner soap dish and the shower with the corner molding installed
10. nventilated room Always work in a well ventilated area To keep the area well ventilated open windows and use exhaust fans If adequate ventilation is not achievable or practical use respiratory protective equipment Clean each wall panel with denatured alcohol or another non oil based cleaning solvent where the soap dish will be installed Alcoho Won BY E 800 325 7008 IMPORTANT NOTICE Do not use oil based cleaners such as mineral spirits to clean the panels The oil in the cleaner will prevent the panel from adhering properly to the wall Installation of Square Corner Soap Dish 1 Select a desirable height for mounting one or both soap dishes A height of at least 43 from the shower floor to the soap dish is recommended E 43 2 After marking the height draw a 4 level line on both walls These lines will be used to align the top edges of the soap dish The Swan Corporation Swanstone Installation Procedure Dust Hazard A When cutting or drilling the Swanstone SP product use a dust collection method which prevents dust particles from going into the air Always work in a well ventilated area A
11. ontinuing Use Proper Tools Always use proper tools which are in good working condition during the installation of the Swanstone products Using tools other than those listed could adversely affect the integrity of floors pipes walls or this product and could result in water damage or other damage to floors pipes walls or other portions of your building or home 5 Do Not Use Nails The panels mount to walls with clear silicone only Only use the supplied or recommended clear silicone to mount this product Never use hammers nails or screws Hammers nails and screws could adversely affect the integrity of this product Nails and screws could puncture the Swanstone Wall Systems and Panels resulting in water or other damage to floors pipes walls or other portions of your building or home eS The Swan Corporation Swanstone A CAUTION CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which if not avoided may result in injury It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices Slipping Hazard Do not install this product in the presence of water Installing this product without drying all surfaces or in the presence of water could cause you to slip and fall due to wet floors or spilled fluids Personal injury can result from slips or falls Before installation dry all surfaces including the floor with a cloth or paper towel Clean up all water or spilled fluids immediately Tripping Haz
