1. Ceiling Fan Aa WARNING Turning off wall switch Is not sufficient To avoid possible electrical shock be sure electricity is turned off at the main fuse or circuit breaker box before wiring All wiring must be in accordance with National and Local codes and the celling fan must be properly grounded as a precaution against possible electrical shock If your fan is to replace an existing ceiling O 1 Remove the hanger ball by loosening light fixture turn electricity off at the main fuse or circuit breaker box at this time and remove the existing light fixture A WARNING Turning off wall switch is not sufficient To avoid possible electrical shock be sure electricity is turned off at the main fuse or circuit breaker box before wiring All wirlng must be In accordance with Natlona and Local codes and the ceiling fan must be properly grounded as a precaution against possible electrical shock the setscrew in the hanger ball until the ball falls freely down the downrod Figure 1 Remove the clevis pin from the downrod then remove the hanger ball Retain the pin and hanger ball for reinstallation in Step 5 PIN HANGER BALL DOWNROD Figure 1 a O 2 Loosen setscrew in motor coupling iff13 While pulling up on the downrod necessary Separate untwist and securely tighten the two setscrews in unkink the three 80 motor leads Route the motor coupling Figure 3 the motor lead wires through the NOTE

The setscrews must be properly downrod Align the clevis pin holes in installed as described above or fan the downrod with the holes inthe motor wobble could result coupling Install the clevis pin and secure with the hairpin clip Figure 2 14 Make sure the grommet is properly The clevis pin must go through the holes in the motor coupling and the holes in the downrod Be sure to push the siraight leg of the hairpin clip through the hole near the end of the clevis pin until the curved portion of the hairpin clip snaps around the clevis pin installed in the coupling cover then slide the coupler cover on the downrod until it rests on the motor housing Place the ceiling cover over the downrod Be sure both the ceiling cover and the coupler cover are oriented correctly Figure 3 The hairpin clip must be properly installed to prevent the clevis pin from working loose Pull on the downrod to make sure the clevis pin is properly installed CEILING CANOPY 4 WARNING itis critical that the clevis pin in the motor coupling is properly installed and the HAIRPIN setscrew securely tightened Failure to verify that the pin and setscrew are properly installed as shown in Figure 2 could result in the fan falling SETSCREW 2 CLEVIS 2 Figure 2 O 5 Reinstall the hanger ball Figure 4 on the downrod as follows Route the motor leads through the downrod Position the pin through the two holes in the dow

Setting Operating set in 32 different positions lf your fan and light go on and off without using your Frequency of control you may be getting interference Transmitter from other remote units such as garage Your remote control transmitter has code door openers car alarms or secur ity switches which must be set in one of 32 systems To remedy this situations simply possible code combinations The five change the combination code in your levers numbered 1 2 3 4 and 5 on the transmitter switches are factory set in the ON up position Do not use this setting Change Preset Memory Feature the switch settings as follows Your Emerson receiver is equipped with a O 1 Slide the five switch levers in the remote preset memory feature If the AC supply to control transmitter to your choice of the receiver is powered through a wall ON up or down positions Use a ball switch when the switch is turned OFF the point pen or small screwdriver and slide control will remember the light intensity the levers firmly up or down and fan speed When the switch is turned back ON the fight and fan will resume operation as they we re prior to the switch being turned OFF 2 When power is restored after installation of the wall contro push and hold the fan OFF button 6 for 3 to 5 seconds to set the code in the receiver 13 The sixth switch marked ON and is for dimming control of lights Set switch to ON to allow for dimming of the

9. eing lost 02 Remove and discard the two cardboard shipping retainers securing the motor hub in the motor housing assembly O3 Remove the fan motor assembly from the protective plastic bag Place all carton contents on a protective surface CARDBOARD SHIPPING RETAINER 2 Electrical Requirements IMPORTANT Your ceiling fan will not function properly and may be damaged if used with any wall dimmer switch or control other than the Emerson Electric Fan Light Wall Control supplied with the fan or an optional Emerson Electric SR100 Remote Control Your new ceiling fan wil require a grounded electrical supply line of 120 volts AC 60 Hz 15 amp circuit The outlet box must be securely anchored and capable of withstanding a load of at least 50 pounds 4 WARNING To reduce the risk of fire electric shock or personal injury mount fan to outlet box marked Acceptable for Fan Support and use screws supplied with outlet box Most outlet boxes commonly used for support of light fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt Ceiling Fan Procedures General Your Emerson ceiling fan comes supplied with a Fan Light Remote Control which consists of a remote control transmitter and a remote control receiver mounted under the ceiling cover This system allows you to regulate your ceiling fan speed and light intensity How to Assemble Your
