1. INSTALLATION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS e Be sure the electricity to the system you are working on is turned Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and check that all parts off either the fuse removed or the circuit breaker set at off are included as shown in Figures 1 amp 2 Be careful not to misplace e Use of other manufacturers components will void warranty listing any of the screws or parts which are needed to install this fixture and create a potential safety hazard e f you are unclear as to how to proceed contact a qualified electrician NOTE This glass is handcrafted the slight imperfections in e You don t need special tools to install this fixture the glass add to the authenticity of the fixture e Be sure to follow the steps in the order given e Proper wiring is essential for the safe operation of this fixture e To reduce the risk of fire electric shock or personal injury mount to outlet box or supporting system able to support the weight of the fixture e Read instructions carefully e Save these instructions GREEN SAFETY GROUNDING SCREW G BACKPLATE A CAGE NUTS H MOUNTING Ke lt RETAINING HOLES I SCREWS E GLASS F MOUNTING n 3p SCREWS B Be 2 QUTLET BOX SCREWS gt FACE A ay FIGURE 1 PLATE C We NOT SUPPLIED sea gull lighting Installation And Safety Ins2. st wires together before using wire connectors C Fit a wire connector not supplied over the wires and thread the connector clockwise until you feel a firm resistance D Gently try to remove the wires fro the connector If you can remove the wires carefully re do steps B and C as above and check again for a firm connection E Connect the fixture wire from group B to the white wire from the outlet box in the same manner MARK MEANS LAMP CONTAINS MERCURY FOLLOW DISPOSAL LAWS SEE WWW LAMPRECYCLE ORG GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The green grounding screw G is to be inserted into the hole with two raised dimples provided on the backplate A Wrap the ground wire from the fixture and the ground wire from the outlet box bare metal or green insulated wire around the green grounding screw G on the backplate A and tighten the green grounding screw G to secure If uninsulated ground wire is on the backplate A connect the ground wire from the fixture and the outlet box to it using a small wire connector not supplied See Figure 2 NEVER CONNECT GROUND WIRE TO BLACK OR WHITE POWER SUPPLY WIRES FINAL ASSEMBLY Make sure no bare wires can be seen outside wire connectors NOTE IF GLASS PANELS ARE NOT INSTALLED PLEASE FOLLOW THIS STEP PLACE BOTTOM EDGE OF GLASS INTO CHANNEL BEND TABS OVER EDGE TO SECURE IN PLACE STEP 1 After wires are connected tuck them carefully inside the outlet box Position faceplate C o
3. truction HC 1369 052708 Line art shown may not exactly match the fixture enclosed However the installation instructions do apply to this fixture Fill In Item Number On Carton And File This Sheet For Fixture Reference ITEM INSTALLATION HC 1369 IMPORTANT DO NOT ATTACH FIXTURE DIRECTLY TO OUTLET BOX STEP 1 Insert fixture mounting screws B in threaded holes of backplate A Run mounting screws B all the way down to the heads STEP 2 Place backplate A against mounting surface and secure in place using appropriate fastener not supplied Be sure the mounting screws B are perfectly vertical so fixture hangs straight STEP 3 Attach safety loop S from fixture backplate A through one of the mounting holes I STEP 4 A Take note of the color of the wire s on your fixture Identify which group your fixture wire s falls into and connect the wires according to the directions below GROUP A CONNECT TO BLACK GROUP B CONNECT TO WHITE HOUSE WIRE HOUSE WIRE BLACK WHITE PARALLEL WIRE ROUND amp SMOOTH PARALLEL WIRE SQUARE amp RIDGED qe NOTE When parallel wire is used the tracer wire is square shaped or ridged and the less tracer wire is round in shape or smooth Seen best when viewed from wire end To separate wires grasp the ends of each wire and pull apart B Take your fixture wire s from group A and place evenly against the black wire from the outlet box Do Not twi
4. ver mounting screws B and secure by threading cap nuts D onto mounting screws B Install lamp J by twisting gently into socket K STEP 3 Raise cage F to fixture and secure by threading cage nuts H onto retaining screws E WET LOCATION NOTE FOR FIXTURES LABELED FOR WET LOCATION AND USED OUTDOORS CAUTION To reduce the risk of electrical shock provide a watertight seal between the fixture and the mounting surface by using a silicone or similar caulking CLEANING To clean wipe fixture with a soft cloth Clean glass with a mild soap Do not use abrasive materials such as scouring pads or powders steel wool or abrasive paper ORDERING PARTS Keep this sheet for future reference and in case you need to order replacement parts Parts for this fixture can be ordered from place of purchase Be sure to use exact wording from illustration when ordering parts FIXTURES WITHA ONE PIECE LAMP BALLAST COMBINATION ONE PIECE gt LAMP BALLAST COMBINATION FIGURE 2
