1. V vent position and open the user tap faucet to relieve pressure in the canister leave tap faucet in the open position until canister body is removed See Figure 6 Place a bowl under the filter body grab the filter cap and twist anti clockwise to the unlock position the water supply is automatically shut off when in the unlock position and pull down to disengage the filter cap and body from the head Empty the water from the filter body into the bowl Unscrew the filter cap from the body and then unscrew the cartridge from the filter cap Wrap the cartridge in a plastic bag or newspaper for disposal with your household waste Replace and condition the filter cartridge as described in steps 9 16 It is important to wash your hands thoroughly after servicing the filter When Leaving on Vacation and to Winterise the Unit If you plan to be away from home for extended periods or the filter housing may be subject to the risk of freezing shut off the main water supply then carry out stages 19 20 and then follow stages 10 12 When the risk of freezing subsides and you wish to use the system again turn on the main water supply and carry out stages 13 17 PLEASE NOTE Allowing the unit to freeze will invalidate the product warranty For full warranty information please visit www doultonwaterfiltersusa com Figure 6 Parts and Service Availability Only genuine Doulto

4. filter cartridge Check that the cap body sealing washer in the filter body is located correctly and screw the body into the cap See Figure 4 Align the arrows on the cap and head to the unlock position and push the assembled filter firmly into the head until it clicks into position Twist the filter cap in a clockwise direction until the arrows are aligned in the locked position See Figure 5 Wipe the housing clean with a damp cloth the filter system should now be ready for pressurisation Conditioning the Ceramic Filter 13 14 15 16 N With the tap faucet in the on position gradually turn the main water supply on until the flow from the tap has stabilised Close the tap faucet and ensure that there is no water leaking from the system joints When the system has been confirmed watertight open the tap faucet and allow the water to run for a minimum of 10 minutes When water first comes out it is normal for some grey dust to be flushed from the filter Allow the filter to stand for 24 hours to condition the filter to the source water and then flush for a further 10 minutes The filter is now ready for use and the filtered water can be used for drinking and preparing food Replacing the Filter 18 19 20 21 22 23 Once the filter cartridge has been used to the specified capacity it needs to be replaced Note If the filter has had little use prior to servicing twist the filter cap to the

6. ng are cut square and free of burrs both inside and outside Ensure there are no gouges scratches or any other form of damage within 1 25 4mm from the cut end of the tubing Damage in this area can cause leakage DO NOT use tools on or modify the push fitting connections as this could damage the connection resulting in leaks and will invalidate the product warranty The push fittings should be installed by hand just press the tubing firmly into the fitting until it stops The tubing can also be removed by hand by pressing the collet on to the push fitting to release the hold on the tubing and gently pulling the tubing out of the push fitting DO NOT use any thread sealant plumbers putty glue or other adhesive agents or chemicals on the push fittings This can damage the o rings inside the push fittings and can cause leakage Any foreign substances used on the push fittings will invalidate the product warranty 9 Remove all packaging from the filter cartridge Check that the sealing o ring is fitted onto the thread of the new cartridge moisten the o ring before screwing the cartridge into the filter cap Figure 2 Filter head p q Filter cap gt Aa Filter body gt eee 4 100mm 4 inches Wee eee Figure 3 Direction of flow pe ed Incoming To user mains faucet water 10 11 12 Slide the filter body over the
7. ns 1 Select a position for the filter near to the incoming water supply and the tap faucet PLEASE NOTE This filter is not designed for the treatment of hot water and should only be connected to the cold water supply 2 Make sure that the filter is located so that the connecting pipework does not have any sharp bends in it 3 For easy servicing of the filter there should be at least 4 inches 10 cm of clearance below the body of the filter to allow for removal of the element for renewal See Figure 2 4 The filter is supplied with John Guest 3 8 inch push fit connections 5 Medium density polyethylene 3 8 tubing is recommended for connection PLEASE NOTE John Guest connections are not recommended to be used with chromium plated tubes as they may slip out of the connection potentially causing leakage 6 Be sure to follow the instructions provided with your faucet during installation of that item Only 3 8 tubing should be used to connect the faucet and filter 7 Attach the filter head to the wall unit with the 3 fixing screws provided 8 Shut off the main water supply and connect the upstream and downstream pipework to the filter Ensure that the arrows on the inlet and outlet of the head are showing the correct direction of flow and that tubing is pushed into the push fittings to a minimum of 0 75 18mm depth See Figure 3 PLEASE NOTE Before inserting the tubing into the push fittings ensure the ends of the tubi
