1. 1 Connecting the feed water supply fitting NOTICE Commonwealth of Massachusetts plumbing codes do not permit the use of saddle valves and require installation by a licensed plumber Comply with plumbing code 248 CMR for installations in the state of Massachusetts Please consult your local plumber Check and comply with local plumbing codes as you plan and install a cold feed supply water fitting The fitting must provide a leak tight connection to the water filter 3 8 in tubing D A typical connection using the water supply fitting B is shown in Figure A An optional connection using standard plumbing fittings not included is shown in Figure B Installation using the Fitting Figure A o Close the cold water shut off valve that is immediately upstream of where you will install the feed water supply fitting Open the faucet to drain water from the sink cold water pipe o Remove the nut that connects the cold water faucet to cold water plumbing o Thread the water supply fitting B onto the pipe and reconnect the nut to the bottom of the fitting Installation using Optional Pipe Fittings compression type shown Figure B o Close the cold water shut off valve that is immediately upstream of where you will install the feed water supply fitting Open the faucet to drain water from the sink cold water pipe o Install a fitting on the cold water pipe to adapt to the 3 8 in OD tubing o If threaded fitti

General Information This system improves the taste and odor and reduces many chemical contaminants in drinking water This system has been tested according to NSF ANSI 42 and 53 for the reduction of the substances listed on the previous page The concentration of the indicated substances in water entering the system was reduced to a concentration less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system as specified in NSF ANSI 42 and 53 The testing was performed using spiked tap water at a flow rate of 0 74 GPM 2 8 L min pH of 7 5 0 5 pressure of 60 PSIG and temperature of 68 5 F Installation Requirements Pressure Range rreren arra 40 100 psig 276 689kPa Temperate RIN Caia 40 100 F 4 38 C Service Flow Rate maximum cceeece eee 0 74 GPM 2 8 LPM SOV ICC Criiiisa tire a EAE 350 Gallons 1325 Liters The filter element contains activated carbon After the new filter is installed flush water through to allow fine harmless carbon particles to purge from the filter until the fines in the filtered water are no longer visible or approximately 10 minutes Installation and Maintenance All plumbing should be done in accordance with local codes and requirements This system should be installed on a cold water supply only In Massachusetts plumbing codes CMR 248 3 00 and 10 00 shall be adhered to Consult with your licensed plumber Filter should be replaced every 350 gallons or six mo
