1. Choose the material for deck railing woo or composite Step 1 rapo Measure the distance between railing posts Cut the top and bottom rails the length of the determined measurement Place the top and bottom railings together on edge Mark the midpoint of your measurement from step 1 on the 11 2 side of each railing Mark the baluster locations 4427 center along the railing which will allow 334 spacing between the balusters Apply stain and finish on railings and posts Pa Step 3 Install the baluster connectors on the top and bottom at the 44 marks When using ACQ treated lumber install a nylon spacer under the connector Please let us know when placing order if you are using treated lumber and we will send you these spacers at no cost Step 4 Install bottom railing Place a supporting block between your deck and bottom rail Tap the balusters on to the connectors with a rubber mallet The supporting block will help keep the bottom rail from shifting during baluster installation Step 5 Place the top railing on the balusters starting from one end and then tap the top railing down Two people are recommended for this step Step 6 If the railings are difficult to bring together use pipe clamps to draw the railings together Step 7 Install a centerpiece for an extra accent With sections over six foot we recommend fastening a supporting block2. between the deck and bottom railing in the middle of the railing We recommend fastening a supporting block between the deck and the bottom railing on all composite railings regardless of section length Step 1 Install top and bottom railings to stair posts With an angle gauge determine the angle to cut the balusters Step 2 Measure the distance between the two railings Step 3 Remove the top and bottom railings and place them together Mark the midpoint of each railing and place a mark every 5 on center the length of the railings Apply stain and finish on your railings and posts Step 4 Install the angle baluster connectors on each mark with the supplied 114 Step 5 Make a jig by cutting two strips of wood af depth and 36 long Screw them 34 apart on another board so the baluster fits snugly between the two strips Step 6 Using the angle gauge mark the angle of the baluster measured in step 1 and then mark the other angle at the opposite end at the point measured in step 2 Step 7 E t Clamp the baluster and the jig to a table Cut the baluster at the point marked on the jig at both ends Cut the remaining balusters for the section Step 8 Put the railings together as described for the straight railing above
