1. 3 metres with one 90 bend or 2metres with two 90 bends Bends of more than 90 will reduce the efficency of the hood and reduce airflow The ducting used must be manufactured A from fire retardent material conforming to the relevant British Standard or DIN 4102 Bf When the cooker hood is ducted to the outside the charcoal filters must be removed Recirculation If you are using the hood for recirculation ensure the charcoal filters are in position following the instructions contained in the section To Remove Replace the Charcoal Filters Note When the hood is used in the recirculation mode ensure that the plate T has been fixed into the lower chimney section If not fit the plate as illustrated opposite using two of the self tapping screws provided in the fixing kit 14 Fitting the Chimney Stack The chimney stack consists of two sections 1 Fit the upper section S first Expand the chimney slightly to allow it to be fitted over the brackets 1 and 2 and then secure the chimney stack to bracket 2 using two self tapping screws provided in the fitting kit 2 Fit the lower chimney section I by expanding the chimney slightly to allow it to be fitted over the brackets 1 and the upper chimney section and bracket 3 3 Ensure the bottom edge of the chimney stack is fitted correctly into the recess around the top of the canopy and secured using the two self tapping screws a

In the recirculation mode the charcoal filters absorb smells and unwanted odours The charcoal filters cannot be cleaned we recommend they should be replaced approximately every three months or more often if the hood is used for more than three hours per day 23 To Remove Replace the Charcoal Filters j First remove the metal grease filters 2 Rotate the charcoal filter anti clockwise B and remove 3 To replace the charcoal filters remove the metal grease filters 4 Place the filter over the inlet grille at either end of the fan housing and rotate clockwise A into position This appliance can be a possible fire hazard if the grease and charcoal filters are not cleaned and replaced as recommended ES Changing the Light Bulb 1 First remove the metal grease filters 2 The light bulbs can be reached from inside the canopy 3 Rotate the light bulb anti clockwise to unscrew 4 To replace the light bulb insert a replacement into the holder then rotate the bulb clockwise into position Ensure you take care not to overtighten the bulb If the light bulb fails to function check that the bulb is fully screwed into the holder If bulb failure has occurred then it should be replaced with a 220 240 Volt 40W clear globe shaped bulb with a small E14 screw thread Replacement filters and light bulbs can be obtained from your local Service Force Centre SOMETHING NOT WORKING If having followed thes

13. ect installation of the cooker hood or if the hood is not installed in compliance with relevant regulations controlling this type of installation Unpacking The cooker hood is supplied with the following components for installation Canopy C including controls worktop illumination and fan unit U shaped upper chimney section S U shaped lower chimney section 1 Metal recirculation plate T 120mm ducting spigot A Fixing kit comprising Wall fixing brackets 1 2 and 3 Document pack Clearance Height The cooker hood is designed to be fitted over a cooking appliance at the clearance heights stated providing the maximum output of the appliance beneath does not exceed the maximums quoted in the Technical Specifications If the output of the appliance below the cooker hood exceeds the maximum outputs quoted please refer to the cooker manufacturer s installation instructions A minimum clearance height of 650mm 25 1 2 is required when installed above a built in electric hob or 700mm 27 1 2 when installed above a built in gas hob A minimum clearance height of 685mm 27 is required when installed above a slot in electric cooker or 787mm 30 1 2 when installed above a slot in gas cooker When installed between adjoining wall cabinets the wall cabinets must not overhang the hob and the distance between the underside of the cabinet and the worktop must be 450mm If the height of the
14. ienced persons may cause injury or more serious malfunction Refer to your local Zanussi Service Force Centre Always insist on genuine spare parts YOUR APPLIANCE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The cooker hood is designed to extract unpleasant odours from the kitchen it will not extract steam The appliance can be installed to recirculate or extract contaminated air Cooker Hood Controls The cooker hood functions are controlled by three switches located to the right on the underside of the hood immediately in front of the metal grease filters Worktop Lighting The switch L marked with the lamp symbol operates the worktop lighting L 0 OFF 1 ON Fan Control The switch M marked with the fan symbol and the switch V marked 1 2 3 operates the fan M 0 OFF 1 ON V 1 Low 2 Normal 3 Boost To Operate Select the required fan speed and light if required Recirculation In the recirculation mode the contaminated air enters the cooker hood through the grease filters The air is cleaned by passing through the charcoal filters before being passed back into the kitchen through the grilles in either side of the chimney stack Extraction In the extraction mode the contaminated air enters the cooker hood passing through the grease filters and is passed out through the ducting into the atmosphere To obtain the best performance when cooking it is advisable to switch the cooker hood on for a few
15. minutes before you start cooking and leave it running for about 15 minutes after finishing When used in the ducting mode the charcoal AN filters are not required Never do flamb cooking under this cooker hood Never leave frying pans unattended during use as over heated fats and oils can catch fire Do not leave naked flames under the cooker hood Ensure heating areas on your hob are covered with pots and pans when using the hob and cooker hood simultaneously MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning isolate the cooker hood from the mains supply The cooker hood must be kept clean as a build up of grease or fat can be a fire hazard External Cleaning Wipe the cooker hood frequently with warm soapy water using a mild detergent Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners Never use excessive amounts of water when cleaning particularly around the control panel Metal Grease Filters The grease filters absorb grease and dust during cooking to help keep the cooker hood clean inside and should be cleaned approximately once every month or more often if the hood is used for more than 3 hours a day lt gt Remove the metal grease filters one at a time by Releasing the catches on the filters the filters can be removed The metal grease filters should be washed by hand in mild soapy water or in a dishwasher Allow to dry completely before replacing Charcoal Filters

18. rews 3 at 95mm either of the vertical line screws not supplied Drill the holes for the fixing screws using an 8mm masonary drill and fix the wall brackets using the plastic rawl plugs and 44mm screws provided Ensure the lower bracket 1 is fitted with the lugs at the bottom If the hood is to be installed onto a hollow construction or plaster or partition board wall then special fixing screws will be required not supplied LS Fitting the Canopy Hood 1 Rotate the adjusting screws R on the canopy C to about halfway Hook the canopy C onto the wall fixing bracket 1 and push down until the canopy adjusting screws R rest on the lugs To align or adjust the height of the canopy use the two adjustment screws R Before fitting the chimney to the canopy make the electrical connection as described in the section titled ELECTRICAL CONNECTION When the electrical connection has been made test the three speed fan and worktop illumination 13 Venting The hood is more effective when used in the extraction mode ducted to the outside Venting kits may be purchased through your retailer or DIY store and must be ducted to an outside vent of 125mm 5 The 120 125mm collar should be fitted onto the ducting spigot to suit UK diameter ducting and held in position by a jubilee clip not supplied used to secure the flexible hose Where flexible duting is fitted the length should be no more than
