Zanussi Service Force Centre whose details can be found in the directory in the back of this instruction book or in your telephone directory under Z IMPORTANT Never leave frying pans unattended during use as overheated fats and oils may catch fire Never do flambe cooking under a cooker hood Worktop Illumination If a lamp fails to function at any time open the metal grille and check that the lamp is fully screwed into the holder When changing the lamp an identical replacement must be fitted to ensure safe working of the hood Replacement lamps are tulip shaped clear glass 240V 40W small Edison E14 screw thread SERVICING If having followed these instructions carefully your machine fails to work properly contact your local Zanussi Service Force Centre but before requesting service the following simple checks may save you inconvenience and expense The cooker hood will not start Check that The hood is connected to the electricity supply The MOTOR switch and the light switch are on The cooker hood is not working efficiently Check that The motor speed control switch is on a setting fast enough for the task The grease filter is clean The kitchen is adequately ventilated to allow the entry of fresh air If set up for recirculation check that the activated charcoal filter is still effective If set up for extraction check that the ducting and outlets are not blocked In guarantee cu
5. fit four screws through the plastic counter sunk plugs into the adjoining wall cabinet side panels to fully secure the hood The hood should be secured to the adjoining cabinets at each side of the hood using the 4 x 12mm 1 2 round headed screws provided The screws holes are located at each side of the casing behind the grille at the bottom of the guide Adjust the lower spacer panel at the rear of the hood to close off the gap Ducting Fitting If the hood is to be ducted to the atmosphere the selector on the diffuser must be set in Position 1 The charcoal filter is not required with this system The ducting used must be 100mm 4 diameter and where flexible ducting is fitted it should not be turned through very tight bends as this may impair the performance of the hood If the distance is greater than 3m the efficiency of the hood could be impaired This length should be reduced 1m for every 90 degree bend installed in the duct run Fitting The Decor Panel To fit the decor panel the complete visor assembly will have to be removed To do this pull open the visor into the operating position Then press downward on the visor release catch located on the left hand side of the casing behind the visor It can then be removed The dimensions of the decor panel to be fitted should be 1H6048 59 6cm 23 1 2 wide 35cm 13 3 4 minimum height 1H9048 89 6cm 35 5 16 wide 35cm 13 3 4 minimum height Use the paper t

10. e air carrying cooking smells and grease particles through the cleansing grease and charcoal filters recirculating mode or to extract the air to the atmosphere extraction mode IMPORTANT When installed above an electric cooking appliance the minimum distance between the surface of the hob elements and the underside of the cooker hood must be 65cm 25 1 2 When installed above a gas cooking appliance the minimum distance between the surface of the hob pan supports and the underside of the cooker hood must be 70cm 27 1 2 This hood should not be fitted above a cooking appliance with a high level grill without contacting the manufacturer of the cooking appliance for specific instructions since it is probable that the hood will affect the performance of the grill WARNING The fan motor of the appliance incorporates a thermal cut out device which could operate if the hood is installed below the minimum height as instructed or if the motor becomes overheated If the cut out device is actuated switch off the fan motor to cool The cut out device will automatically reset itself when the fan motor has cooled sufficiently WARNING If the room where the cooker hood is to be used contains a fuel burning appliance such as a central heating boiler then its flue must be of the room sealed or balanced flue type If other types of flue or appliance are fitted ensure that there is an adequate supply of air to the room The cooke
11. elevision interference Note This appliance must be protected by a 3amp fuse if a 13amp BS 1363 plug is used or if any other type of plug is used it must be protected by a 5Amp fuse in the plug or adaptor or at the distribution board INSTALLATION Wall Fitting The hood may be fixed to any rigid vertical surface If it is necessary to fix the unit to a hollow construction plaster or partition board structure then it must be sufficiently reinforced to be rigid in the area of the hood fixings Use the paper template provided place n the wall and mark bracket fixing points Check the distances of the holes are correct with the dimensions as stated on the template At this stage it is important to allow 15mm 1 2 clear space above the hood to enable it to be hooked onto the brackets and for any subsequent removal for cleaning or servicing When drilling the holes for the wall fixing screws care must be taken to ensure that they are quite level as there is only minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing brackets The brackets should be fixed with the round end at the bottom Once the brackets are secured the hood can be hooked into position Access to the wall levelling screws is from above the hood These are located in the two extension arms at either side of the hood which fit over the wall brackets to support the hood Turn these screws until the hood is positioned at right angles to the wall cabinet carcass then
12. emplate provided to mark the fixing holes on the reverse side of the decor panel Ensure that the template is aligned with the top edge of the decor panel Should a decor panel with a measurement greater than 35cm 13 3 4 in height be fitted failure to align the top edge of the template with the top edge of the decor panel will prevent the visor opening when installed Measure before drilling to check that the distances of the holes as stated on the template are correct as the template could have altered due to exposure to dampness after manufacture To refit the visor relocate the guides at the top of the visor into the tracks at the top front corners in the hood casing Lower the bottom edge of the visor until the lower guides align with the lower tracks push in the visor until an audible click is heard The visor may now be opened and closed in its normal function IMPORTANT Should the decor panel not be fitted as advised it could affect the opening of the visor panel HOW TO USE Operating Instructions The cooker hood functions are controlled by three slide switches an automatic microswitch and selector slide lever The three slide switches which are located on the right hand side beneath the visor panel control fan speed and work surface illumination The switch marked with the fan symbol amp and the 0 1 controls the power supply to the fan and should be used in conjunction with the switch marked 1 2 3 which control
