4. attery automatically activated during AC recharge Analog pressure gauge to 260 PSI compressor Nozzle hatch for storing nozzles in compressor 3 nozzles for inflator FIGURE 2 NOZZLE HATCH COVER PRESSURE GAUGE CAUTION This battery pack is delivered in a partially charged state you must fully charge it before using it for the first time Initial AC charge should be for 10 hours Refer to Section 6 for use of AC adapter and detailed charging instructions VEC258 Manual 3 03 qxp 1 23 07 5 18 PM Page 5 3 ATTACHING THE COMPRESSOR S AIR HOSE The air hose is supplied as a separate item from the compressor body The hose has a ribbed brass fitting at one end and a standard tire chuck at the other end To use the hose it must first be connected to the compressor outlet Loosen the hose retaining ring counterclockwise insert the hose fitting into the short rubber sealing sleeve Make sure the hose fitting is inserted fully into the sleeve Partially tighten clockwise the hose retaining ring and push the fitting in further Do this two or three times until the fitting is firmly attached and the ring is firmly tightened WARNING Improperly attached hoses or nozzles can fly out under compressor pressure Make sure the connections are tight WARNINGS 1 There is risk of dust or dirt projectiles being released if the compressor hose or nozzles are not clean when the compressor is turned on 2 Wearing protective goggles

15. ter 10 minutes of continuous operation Do not use accessories that are not designed to be used with these appliances Do not place battery pack on heater and keep it out of sunlight Do not a oe when it is at or above 122 F 50 of Allow the battery pack to cool before charging E O NOs Dip VEC258 Manual 3 03 qxp 1 23 07 5 18 PM Page 3 l INTRODUCTION Congratulations on selecting the Vector AirPro Model VEC258 Compressor amp Lantern Light Combo This system is an advanced high pressure up to 260 PSI multi use air compressor system with unique features that set it far above the value and util ly of ordinary compressors for mobile use It is supplied with a standard tire valve chuck for filling auto truck bike and motorcycle tires Additionally two different adapters are supplied to inflate soccer balls footballs and popular inflatables These adapters are conveniently stored in a hatch in the compressor body It is powered from its own snap on off powerful battery to be used anywhere it is needed It can also operate from a standard 12 volt DC a estas system found on trucks cars boats airplanes RVs and tractors using the supplied pe power adapter A supplied stan dard 110 volt AC charger recharges the o when required Typically up to three completely flat tires can be inflated before the snap on battery has to be recharged A separate lantern light shares the battery pack and DC power adapter The lig
16. ttery pack FIGURE 6 LANTERN LIGHT PARTS REPLACEMENT BULB REFLECTOR BEZEL SCREW HOLE SCREW REMOVED REMOVE LENS 8 2 QUARTZ HALOGEN BULB REPLACEMENT The bulb is a 15 watt 12 volt G4 projection type This type bulb has two connector pins that plug into a socket The ae ie follows 1 Unscrew the bezel E E and remove the bezel and lens 2 Hold the reflector in place against the body of the lamp and pull the bulb straight out Note the location ar two socket holes that accept the bulb pins 3 Unpack the new bulb Using a clean cloth remove it from the packing material NOTE Do not touch the new bulb with bare hands oil from fingers can cause premature failure of these bulbs If the bulb is touched clean the bulb with alcohol on a clean cloth after the bulb is installed m VEC258 Manual 3 03 qxp 1 23 07 5 18 PM Page 11 8 9 T 4 Push the pins the new bulb into the socket and make sure the bulb is fully inserted 5 Replace the lens and bezel 6 Tighten clockwise the bezel until it is snug 7 Test the light for proper operation by turning it ON and then OFF 3 FLUORESCENT LAMP REPLACEMENT The bulb type is a standard 4 watt F4T5 D fluorescent tube type A sable bulb can be purchased from local lighting hardware or sulle stores The fluorescent lamp tube can be replaced after the front vertical lens is removed The procedure follows 1 Remove the battery pack or DC adapter Using a smal
17. while slg this compressor can protect eyes from fying particles of dust and dirt Failure to follow instructions may cause property amage and or personal injury 3 Keep out of reach of children 4 POWERING THE COMPRESSOR OR LAMP The compressor can be powered either from a supplied battery pack or from a supplied DC power adapter 4 1 POWERING FROM THE BATTERY PACK The supplied battery pack powers the compressor or inflator for short duration cordless operation The battery pack should be fully charged initially before use see paragraph 5 for charging instructions To connect the charged battery pack to either the compressor or lamp align the battery pack so the battery release buttons snap onto the appropriate appliance The attery pack fits only one way to ensure correct polarity of the contacts To remove the battery pack press the battery pack release buttons and the battery pack will separate from the appliance 4 2 DC POWER ADAPTER USE The DC power adapter can power the compressor or lamp for longer operation from an external 12 volt DC power source The DC power adapter has a fused DC plug and connecting cord stored inside the DC power adapter To use the DC power i first remove the DC plug from it s storage in the adapter Deploy the cord from storage and connect the DC power adapter to the compressor Make sure it snaps into position Connect the DC plug to a 12 volt DC source To remove the DC power adapter press i
