3. cally turn off in 3 and half minutes However to prolong battery life press the power button to turn the unit off once the temperature has been taken 8 Repeat this procedure as necessary if pacifying is interrupted during use HOW TO CHANGE TEMPERATURE SCALE The Pacifier Thermometer can display temperature measurements in either Fahrenheit or Celsius To switch the scale from C to F or vise versa press the O I button for more than 3 seconds and the unit is changed from C to F then the device enters to measuring mode automatically CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Clean the pacifier thermometer by wiping it with soap and warm water or rubbing alcohol 70 isopropyl alcohol 2 Wipe dry with soft cloth 3 Do not boil or clean in a dishwasher This will cause the thermometer to no longer function and will void the warranty 4 Do not wash the unit with any thinner or chemical solvent 3 SPECIFICATIONS 90 F 109 9 F 32 C 42 9 C Measurement time Oral 1 5 min for reference only it differs from people to people One 3 0V button cell battery CR2032X1 Back light 1 Green light is on when the reading is below 99 5 F 37 5 C 2 Red light is on when the reading is above 99 5 F 37 5 C Beeper function a 1 beep sound is made when power ON or OFF b 10 beeps are made after the measuring completed Memory function Turn on the unit it automatically display the last reading for 2 seconds after display

5. ing and late afternoon Take the average of the two temperatures to calculate a normal body temperature 2 OPERATING YOUR PACIFIER THERMOMETER Press the power button The display will read 188 85 indicating that the display is working and a short signaling tone is heard then the last reading is displayed for 2 seconds followed by the circuit test If the circuit is normal it displays Lo and a flashing F appear at the upper right of the display The thermometer is now ready for use 2 When the temperature reading reaches 89 6 F 32 C or more the display will show an actual temperature 3 Position the pacifier bulb in child s mouth Note Drinking or eating prior to use may affect reading Measurement should be taken one half hour after eating or drinking 4 Once the degree sign on the display has stopped flashing approximately one and half minutes the beeper will sound meaning the temperature is ready to read This reading reflects the oral temperature of the child 5 If the reading is below 99 5 F 37 5 C the green backlight will be on for 5 seconds If the reading is equal or above 99 5 F 37 5 C the red backlight will be on for 5 seconds 6 It is recommended that the thermometer be left in the child s mouth for 3 5 minutes to allow the nipple to warm up and to obtain a more accurate reading This is required if the child does not pacify without interruption N The unit will automati
6. ture at any other site oO The thermometer nipple comes in one size medium intended to fit most mouth sizes Please gauge your child s mouth size and the nipple size prior to thermometer use A child using a nipple that is too large has an increase risk of choking N Do not attempt to disassemble the unit There are no user serviceable part inside The BATTERY IS NOT REPLACEABLE When the battery is almost exhausted the following symbol will appear in the display window mi indicating the unit should be discarded Do not use as a regular pacifier after the battery is discharged foe Wash the unit in warm soapy water Do not wash the unit with any thinner or chemical solvent o Do not store unit in direct sunlight or at high temperature TEMPERATURE READINGS This pacifier is for oral use only Oral temperature readings are often approximately 1 lower than rectal readings and 1 higher than axillary under the arm readings Temperature readings vary from child to child Although there is no singular normal temperature reading a temperature taken orally ranging between 97 F 36 C and 100 F 37 8 C is considered normal Your child s physician should be consulted to determine what temperature range the physician considers to be normal The best method to determine your child s normal temperature is to use the thermometer when the child is feeling well Record readings twice a day early morn
