VGN AX Senes TV Tuner Replacement Instruc tons IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU START These easy instructions are intended to guide you through the replacement process v To avoid electnc shock please make sure product is tumed off and AC Adaptor Is disconnected from the power source Remove Jewelry before you begin work to avoid scratching the surface of your notebook computer v Place your notebook computer on a clean stable and covered surface to avoid damage to the computer s case v Follow the ESD Electrostatic Discharge damage prevention instructions o Hold partsby the edges away from exposed circuitry when possible o Do not walk around excessively asthis promotes static build up v The appearance of the electronic components shown in the illustrations may be different from the components shipped This sight difference doesnot affect the accuracy of these instructions Sony is not responsible for any loss of data associated with your computer or any damage caused by Incorrect handling of the computer under these procedures The terms of your Sony Limited Warranty continue to apply Step 1 Prepare the Computer caution Make sure the computer is turned off the lid is closed and the AC Adapter is disconnected Failure to do so can result in damage to the computer Place the computer upside down on a protected surface with the front edge facing you Step 2 Remove the Battery Pack Un2. lock the battery pack and locate the release tab as shown in the picture With your thumbs push the tab in the release direction and gently lift up the battery pack Step 3 Remove completely the battery pack from the computer and set aside P N 994639200 Rev B 1 2 VGN AX Senes TV Tuner Replacement Instruc tons Step 4 Locate the TV Tuner Bay Rotate the computer with the TV Tuner Bay facing you as shown in the picture Step 5 Unlock the Latch Use your thumb or finger and gently press the latch in to release the pressure Step 6 To initiate the removal of the TV Tuner Bay pull slightly the latch as shown Step 7 Pull the TV Tuner Bay away from the computer as shown Some force may be required to disconnect it Step 8 Remove completely the TV Tuner Bay Step 9 Install New TV Tuner Bay Hold the new TV Tuner Bay by the edges and align it with the opening Step 10 With an even force slide in the new TV Tuner Bay Step 11 Make sure the new TV Tuner Bay is seating flush on the edge of the computer 2 2 Step 12 Lock the Latch Return the old TV Tuner Bay to sony following the included shipping instructions
