SING THE SmartMedia The supplied SmartMedia is a data storage media used in your digital camera to store the recordings Make sure to install the SmartMedia in the digital camera before taking pictures see INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE SmartMedia on page 22 Avoiding Accidental Erasure of Important Data Recorded on the SmartMedia Mis Recording Protection Function Attach a write protect sticker to the write protect area see page 11 Recording shooting and or erasure will no longer be possible Attach the sticker so that it is fully within the write protect area and so that it is fully flat and will not peel off otherwise problems may occur If the sticker becomes dirty or if it is not fully within the UU write protect area the mis recording protection function Wn may not work properly Gently wipe away any contamination with a soft dry cloth If you would like to record additional data or erase existing data remove the write protect sticker e Do not re use any write protect stickers once they have been removed from the SmartMedia as their adhesion force will diminish and problems may occur if they are re used Write protect area NOTE The SmartMedia is a consumable item After it has been used for a long period of time recording and playback of image data may no longer be possible In such a case you will need to purchase a replacement f the SmartMedia is removed from the digital camer
