Checking the signal strength 1 Highlight the Signal M eter item in the Satellite Dish menu and press the button 2 Check the signal strength values for the different Networks and Transponders supported by your dish Make minor adjustments to your azimuth elevation and tilt if applicable values in order to obtain signal strengths as close to 100 as possible You may need someone to assist you while making these adjustments For more information about the installation of your satellite dish please refer to the installation manual that came with your satellite dish equipment Ordering DIRECTV Programming After you have installed and connected the receiver you must contact your service provider to create an account in order to receive DIRECTV programming To order programming from DIRECTV please call 1 800 DIRECTV 1 800 347 3288 With this system you may be able to receive local channel programming in certain areas of the country Check with your retailer or visit DIRECTV com for information on the availability of local channel programming from DIRECTV in your area DIRECTV programming is provided in accordance with the terms and conditions of the DIRECTV Customer Agreement which is provided at DIRECTV com or with your first DIRECTV bill Activation of programming may be subject to credit approval and requires valid service address social security number and or major credit card Programming subject to change You must be physica

Selecting your dish type 1 Access the Main Menu by pressing the button Select the Setup menu and then select the Satellite Dish menu 2 Highlight the Select Type item and press the button Press the button repeatedly to toggle through Round Dish O val Dish 2 Satellite Locations and O val dish 3 Satellite Locations Pick the dish type you are using with your receiver Determing the azimuth and elevation To properly point your satellite dish antenna at the DIRECTV satellites you need to know your azimuth elevation and tilt if applicable coordinates Azimuth is defined as the angle between magnetic North and the location of the satellites as measured along the horizon M ore simply azimuth relates to the left to right positioning of your dish Elevation is the angular distance of the satellites above the horizon in relation to your dish location In other words elevation is the up and down positioning of your dish 1 Select the Select Location item from the Satellite Dish menu 2 Enter your 5 digit Zip code using the buttons After entering all 5 digits the proper azimuth elevation and tilt if applicable values will display for your area 14 15 Setting Up and Connecting 3 Write down the azimuth elevation and tilt values The separate installation instructions that come with your satellite dish antenna will explain how to use these values to properly point your dish M Elevation Azimuth Elevation
