OWNER S MANUAL Model No BL22 Series covers all models Salton PERSONAL BLENDER IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following 1 Read all instructions 2 To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put cord plugs or appliance in water or other liquid 3 Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children 4 Unplug from outlet when not in use before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning 5 Avoid contacting moving parts 6 Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner Contact Consumer Service for examination repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment The use of attachments including canning jars not recommended by the manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons 8 Do not use outdoors 9 Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter 10 Do not let cord contact hot surface including the stove 11 Keep hands and utensils out of the Blending Jar while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the Blender A scraper may be used but must be used only when the Blender is not running 12 Blades are sharp Handle carefully 13 Always operate Blender with Blending Jar Lid in place 14 When blending hot liquids remove center piece of two piece L
4. ase the OFF PULSE Button CAUTION To protect against risk of electrical shock do not place Motor Housing plug or cord in water or any other liquid 4 Wipe the Motor Housing clean with a moistened cloth Dry thoroughly BLENDER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS NOTE Before assembling make sure the cord is unplugged and press and release the OFF PULSE Button CAUTION Use extreme care when handling the Blade Assembly Do not touch Blades with your fingers The Blades are very sharp and can cause injury if touched 1 Carefully place the Blending Jar over the Motor Housing with the Pour Spouts facing to either side as seen in Figure 1 2 Blending Jar should then drop into the Motor Housing and lock into place NOTE The Blending Jar must be firmly attached to the Motor Housing before putting any foods or liquids into the Blending Jar OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CAUTION Keep hands and utensils out of the Blending Jar while blending to prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit A scraper may be used but must only be used when the unit is not running CAUTION Use extreme care when handling the Blender Blade Do not touch Blades with your fingers The Blades are very sharp and can cause injury if touched 1 Before starting make sure power cord is unplugged and press and release the OFF PULSE Button 2 Make sure that the Blending Jar is securely fastened to the Motor Housing See Assembly Instructions for d
5. ce cubes Do not try to crush more than 5 ice cubes at a time HOT INGREDIENTS CAUTION Use extreme caution when blending hot liquids to avoid accidental scalding or burns Do not use your hand to cover opening NOTE When processing hot foods always remove the Cap from the Lid before beginning e DO NOT put more than 7 ounces of hot ingredients into the Blending Jar before beginning to blend e After the blending process has begun you may slowly add up to an additional 7 ounces of hot ingredients through the center hole in the Lid e Always use a vessel with a pouring spout when adding hot ingredients USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS This appliance requires little maintenance It contains no user serviceable parts Do not try to repair it yourself Any servicing that requires disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician CAUTION Never immerse the Motor Housing plug or cord in water or any other liquid 1 Always unplug the unit before cleaning 2 Whenever possible rinse parts immediately after processing to make cleanup easier CAUTION Use extreme care when handling the Blade Assembly Do not touch the Blades with your fingers The Blades are very sharp and can cause injury if touched 3 Wash the Blending Jar Lid and Cap in warm soapy water Rinse and dry thoroughly Never use rough scouring pads or abrasive cleansers on any plastic or metal parts as the surface may be
6. etails CAUTION Never place the Blade Assembly on the Motor Housing without the Blending Jar being completely assembled and securely in place 3 Add ingredients to the Blending Jar NOTE Do not fill the Blending Jar more than 3 4 full 22 0z Never operate when the Blending Jar is empty 4 Place Blending Jar Lid with Cap on Blending Jar Remember Always hold Lid in place during processing NOTE When placing Blending Jar Lid with Cap onto the Blending Jar make certain that the longer inner lips of the Blending Jar Lid with Cap are aligned with the two Pour Spouts to insure no leakage occurs while blending 5 Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet Press the ON Button Blend until ingredients have reached desired consistency 4 CAUTION If Blending Jar rotates during blending immediately press and release the OFF PULSE Button then make sure that the Blending Jar has fully dropped into the Motor Housing and is locked into place as described in the Blender Assembly Instructions e Do not touch Blades e Do not interfere with the Blade movement e Do not remove Blending Jar Lid 6 When blending is completed press and release the OFF PULSE Button to stop the Blender and unplug the unit PULSE FUNCTION e To activate PULSE function press and hold down the OFF PULSE Button Release Button to cease function and stop Blender NOTE When using PULSE Function to crush ice add 1 tablespoon of water for every 5 i
