5. BATTERIES When using your hand vac continuously the batteries in your battery pack will become hot You should let a hot battery pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes be fore attempting to recharge NOTE This situation only occurs when continuous use of your hand vac causes the batteries to become hot It does not occur under normal circumstances Refer to Charging Your Hand Vac for normal recharging of bat teries If the charger charging assembly does not charge your battery pack under normal circumstances return both the battery pack and charger charging assembly to your nearest Ryobi Authorized Service Center for elec trical check TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK See Figure 6 E Place the battery pack in your hand vac Align raised rib on battery pack with groove in hand vac s battery port Mm Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap in place and that battery pack is secured in hand vac before beginning operation TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK See Figure 6 Locate latches on side of battery pack and depress both sides to release the battery pack from the hand Vac A CAUTION When placing battery packin your hand vac be sure raised rib on battery pack aligns with groove in hand vac s battery port and latches snap in place properly Improper assembly of battery pack can cause damage to internal components ON OFF SWITCH See Figure 7 Follow these steps to turn the vacuum on and of

14. f E To turn the vacuum on Slide switch toward the front of the vacuum E To turn the vacuum off Slide switch toward the back of the vacuum ON OFF SWITCH ow TO TURN ON OPERATION CLEANING YOUR HAND VAC E Shake or lightly brush any dust or dirt off filter See Figures 5 6 and 7 m Empty dust bowl and wash if necessary Make sure dust bowl is completely dry before reattaching to hand vac A WARNING Never use your hand vac without dust bowl and filter properly in place TO REATTACH DUST BOWL See Figure 10 E Position the two sections as shown Align slots on bottom of dust bowl with tabs on bottom of motor housing then snap the two sections together The dust bowl should be checked emptied and cleaned periodically to obtain maximum dust collection TO REMOVE DUST BOWL See Figure 8 E Depress the release button located on top of hand vac Pull dust bowl down and out as shown to sepa rate from motor housing PRESS RELEASE BUTTON PULL DUST BOWL DOWN AND OUT TO REMOVE mM Remove the filter by simply pulling it out of dust bowl See Figure 9 HAND VAC DUST BOWL FILTER BATTERY PACK 10 ACCESSORIES ADDING ATTACHMENTS See Figures 11 12 and 13 A WARNING The brush attachment and crevice tool have been pro vided with your hand vac These attachments can be easily snapped into place on your hand vac Storage space for your brush attachment and crevice tool is conveniently loc

17. ore the cradle can be mounted to the wall you must install the input jack into the back of the cradle E Locate a convenient wall stud to mount the cradle near an electrical outlet Use charger with normal household voltage of 120 volts 60 Hz AC only Tem porarily place the hand vac in the cradle to make sure it is mounted high enough to keep the unit off the floor or countertop and will not interfere with the charger or electrical outlet m Use apencil to mark the position of the two mounting holes on the wall Make sure the cradle is the correct vertical position E Insert spacer and charger plug into input jack on back of cradle arranging wire as shown Place clamp on top to secure charger plug and install the screws into the two mounting holes Tighten screws securely CHARGER PLUG INSTALLED CHARGER PLUG CLAMP SCREWS E Position the cradle in place and secure it to the wall with the two 2 screws provided See Figure 4 SCREWS CRADLE TO CHARGE HAND VAC USING CRADLE See Figure 5 M Charge hand vac only with the charger provided E Place hand vac in cradle ensuring that charger plug previously installed is correctly connected to input jack of the hand vac s battery pack See Figure 5 E Make sure power supply is normal household voltage 120 volts 60 Hz AC only M Connect charger to power supply CRADLE INPUT JACK CHARGER PLUG OPERATION IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RE CHARGING HOT
