NUMBER It desired you may commence play with any track First close the tray with the OPEN CLOSE button The total number oftracks on the disc isthen shown on the display By pressing NEXT or PREV button you can select the desired track number Then start play by pressing the START REPLAY button SELECTING A PARTICULAR PASSAGE During play you can quickly locate a particular passage in a track by pressing the SEARCH button Holding the SEARCH button down results in the laser pick up running back towards the beginning of the track whilst holding the SEARCH button down results in the laser pick up running towards the end of the track During search the laser pick up moves at three successive speeds for the first few seconds slowly then faster and maximum speed reached after approximately ten seconds HOLDING PLAY AT THE START OF A TRACK OR PASSAGE By pressing the PAUSE button you can stop the laser pick up at the start of a track or pasage at this time the PAUSE LED will illuminate to indicate the selection of pause mode With PAUSE selected you may utilise NEXT or PREV or SEARCH as required When you wish to restart play press the PAUSE button again or press the START REPLAY button INTERRUPTING PLAY You may interrupt play at any time by pressing the PAUSE button and restart play at the point of interruption by pressing the PAUSE button again or by pressing the START REPLAY button REPEATING THE DISC To play the

4. coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured BROWN or RED CONNECTING TO YOUR AMPLIFIER Using the phono cord provided connect the right and left channels of your CD player to the CD input of your amplifier If your amplifier is not equipped with a CD input you can use either the auxillary or tape input OPERATION Having ensured that all connections have been correctly made and the unit has been switched on you can proceed with the operation of the player LOADING AND UNLOADING A DISC Loading By pressing the open close button the motorised disc tray will slide open In this position you can now insert your chosen disc by placing it in the tray with the label side uppermost being careful to hold the disc with your hand open and thumb and fingers extended The tray is closed by pressing the start replay button if you want to play all of the disc or by pressing the open close button again if you want to play a specific track or to compile a programme Care should be taken not to obstruct the disc tray when opening or closing Ifthe error LED lights up after the disc tray is closed this indicates that the disc has been inserted upside down or that no disc is present UNLOADING By pressing the open close button the motorised disc tray will slide open and the disc may then be removed Pressing the open close button again will close the disc tray PLAYING TIME INDICATION To select playing tim

6. ian 8 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Do not use chemicals such as benzine or thinners on the front panel Always use a soft dry cloth to clean the unit 9 OWNER S MANUAL Keep the owner s manual near the unit and record the serial number found on the rear panel on the cover 10 REMOVAL OF TRANSIT SCREWS Two transit screws with red plastic collars are fitted to the bottom of the player These lock the player mechanism and disc tray to protect them during transportation These screws and collars should be removed prior to using the player They should be retained in a safe place and should be refitted if you want to transport your player to another location 11 CAUTION Itis advisable to ensure that the volume control of your amplifier is at zero before switching on or off your C D player If your unit comes with a 2 core cable without a plug make certain that the live and neutral leads are connected to the proper terminals Check that the terminals are screwed down firmly and no loose strands of wire are present IMPORTANT The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code BLUE NEUTRAL BROWN LIVE As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE or BLACK The wire which is
7. n or the pause is again counted down followed by the display of the elapsed playing time of the new track As soon as all the tracks have been played the disc stops and the display shows the total number of tracks on the disc or the total playing time RETURNING TO THE BEGINNING OF A TRACK You can go back to the beginning of the track being played by pressing the START REPLAY button MOVING TO ANOTHER TRACK Selecting a later track By pressing the NEXT button once the player will automatically move to the next track By using this button you can select any track number higher than the one being played Pressing the NEXT button whilst playing the last track will result in illumination of the ERROR LED thus reminding you that there is no next track and play will continue with the last track Ifthe player is in repeat mode the ERROR LED will not illuminate and play will continue with the first track Selecting a previous track By pressing the PREV button once the player will automatically move to the previous track By using this button you can select any track number lower than the one being played Pressing the PREV button whilst playing the first track will result in illumination of the ERROR LED thus reminding you that there is no previous track and play will continue with the first track If the player is in repeat mode the ERROR LED will not illuminate and play will continue with the last track BEGINNING AT ANY SPECIFIC TRACK
8. ory is full and cannot accept any further commands Programming is only possible when the disc is loaded and the tray is closed The highest track number that can be stored is then shown on the display and determined at the same time so that errors in this respect are precluded To store the track numbers that you want to include in a programme bring up each track number in turn under TRACK using the NEXT or PREV button depending on which is quicker then store it by pressing the PROGR REV button Do not allow more than five seconds to elapse between releasing the NEXT or PREV button and pressing the PROGR REV button otherwise the microprrocessor in the player will assume that you have changed your mind However you can re activate a missed track number again by bringing up either the previous or following track number and then retuming to the one required Example From a disc containing 16 tracks you wantto listen to tracks 7 3 9 5 12 and 10 in that order Load the disc in the tray and close it using the OPEN CLOSE button When the contents list has been read the figure 16 will appear under TRACK Now press the NEXT button until 7 appears then press the PROGR REV button The display will show 7 Pto indicate that the track has been stored Continue by going back to 3 using the PREY button and press the PROGR REV button again Display now shows 3 P You select the remaining tracks in turn by pressing NEXT or PREY button and then sto

11. sure to connect the AC line cord to a household wall outlet Be certain that the wall outlet voltage matches the electrical rating of the unit found on the rear panel 2 CONNECTING AND REMOVING AC CORD Be sure to connect or disconnect the AC line cord only after tuming off the power switch to prevent possible shock noise or damage to the speakers 3 VENTILATE THE UNIT WELL Never block any ventilation holes at the top and bottom of the unit Be sure also to provide ample ventilation space around the unit Poor ventilation may result in damage due to excessive heat 4 DO NOT OPEN THE CABINET In order to avoid electric shock or damage to the component never open the cabinet If a foreign object falls inside the unit by mistake turn off power disconnect the wall plug and consult a qualified electrictian or your dealer 5 INSTALLATION Be sure to place the unit in a level and flat place where it is free from humidity vibration high temperature and not exposed to direct sunlight Be careful not to place the unit in a highly enclosed place Poor ventilation will cause undesirable effects to the unit 6 MOVING THE UNIT When transporting remove the AC cord from the wall outlet and all other connected cords on the rear panel to prevent wire breakage and short circuits REFIT TRANSIT SCREWS see note 10 7 IF THE UNIT GETS WET Ifthe unit should get wet immediately disconnect the AC cord and consult your dealer or a qualified electric
