2. 1 Remote Monitor Kit Resource CD 1 Handheld box 1 Cradle 1 Handheld software CD 1 Handheld operation manual HANDHELD MONITOR CABLE COMPARTMENT COMPARTMENT POUCH Figure 1 IPS RMK Remote Monitor Kit C2453M D 2 06 5 Getting Started Before using the remote monitor kit do the following 1 Test the handheld to make sure it is ready for use 2 Install the batteries for the monitor TEST THE HANDHELD TO ENSURE IT IS READY FOR USE Batteries and software for the handheld were installed at the factory before the IPS RMK was shipped Before using the remote monitor kit check the battery gauge of the handheld to ensure that the batteries are still functioning To check the batteries refer to the operation manual supplied with the handheld NOTE The Spectra Ill Spectra Mini Esprit and ExSite application programs are installed on the handheld at the factory If the batteries of the handheld are functioning the handheld should be ready for immediate use 6 C2453M D 2 06 INSTALL THE MONITOR BATTERIES The battery pack located on the back of the monitor holds 8 AA or 10 NiCad rechargeable batteries batteries not included To install the batteries do the following 1 2 3 4 5 6 Remove the mointor from the monitor compartment of the IPS RMK refer to Figure 1 Press the tab located on the bottom of the battery pack of the monitor refer to Figure 2 Gently lift the battery back Install batteries

Do not leave the monitor ON when it is not being used Battery life is 2 5 to 3 hours Tint Turn the button up to increase greenish tones in the picture and down to increase the reddish tones in the picture Color Turn the button up to increase the color saturation level and down to decrease the color saturation level Q Bright Turn the button up to increase brightness and down to decrease brightness DC 12 VDC jack Power jack for optional 12 VDC power supply not included C2453M D 2 06 1 How to Control the Positioning System Using the Handheld The Spectra Ill Spectra Mini Esprit and ExSite utilities are installed on the handheld contained in this kit The handheld is ready for immediate use Before using the handheld to control a system know how to operate the handheld For instructions on how to operate the handheld refer to the manual shipped in the handheld box 1 Turn the handheld ON 2 Tapthe application icon 47 on oe wl Y Graffiti HotSync Memo Pad l o O lineHunt Note Pad Prefs fz APPLICATION ICON Security Spectral ToDoList Figure 10 Handheld Main Menu 3 Select the protocol for the system and then enter the system address IMPORTANT The handheld will not operate systems using P protocol address 1 To control the system with the handheld change the P address to 2 or higher SPECTRA Per 1 1 0 By Pelco SELECT Protocot Address

Set the battery selection switch refer to Figure 3 Reinstall the battery pack onto the monitor A WARNING Never use a DC power supply when batteries are installed LIFT TO REMOVE BATTERY BACK BATTERY SELECTION SWITCH nil 4 ALKALINE V NICAD Figure 3 Battery Selection Switch Location and Settings C2453M D 2 06 How to Assemble the Remote Monitor Kit Refer to Figure 4 for the following steps Lift the handheld compartment Open the bottom flap of the cable pouch Pull the serial cable for the handheld out through the bottom of the pouch and connect to the bottom of the handheld Secure excess cable and place back in 0 pouch Open the top flap of the cable pouch Pull the BNC connector out through the top of the pouch Connect to the VIDEO IN connector located on the top of the monitor Pull the interface cable IPS CABLE out of the pouch and plug the RJ 45 connector into the RJ 45 port of he Spectra IIl SE Spectra IIl or IPS RDPE 2 remote data port If you have a Spectra Mini dome remove the IPS MINIADPT adapter cable from the pouch Connect the RJ 45 connector to the mating connector on the IPS CABLE Remove the trim ring and lower dome from the Spectra Mini dome by prying down on the trim ri
