5. n using the dust bag make holes inthe paper using the punch plate as follows Hold the tool with the paper surface facing up Place the punch plate over the paper so that the bent sides of the punch plate are flush with the paper edges Then press the punch plate to make holes in the paper CAUTION Be sure to remove the punch plate before operation Dust bag standard equipment for Model BO4550 optional accessory for Model BO4550Z The use of the dust bag makes sanding operations clean and dust collection easy To attach the dust bag fit the bag s entry port onto the dust spout on the tool so that the hole in the entry port is just over the protrusion on the dust spout For the best results empty the dust bag when it becomes about half full tapping it lightly to remove as much dust as possible Switch action To start the tool move the switch to the ON position To stop move the switch to the OFF position Switch Operation Hold the tool firmly Turn the tool on and wait until it attains full speed Then gently place the tool on the workpiece surface A finishing sander is generally used to re move only a small amount of material at a time Since the quality of the surface is more important than the amount of stock removed do not bear down on the tool Keep the base flush with the workpiece at all times Excessive pressure may damage the paper and shorten tool life CAUTION e Do
6. ny way VOLTAGE WARNING Before connecting the tool to a power source receptacle outlet etc be sure the voltage supplied is the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool A power source with voltage greater than that specified for the tool can result in SERIOUS INJURY to the user as well as damageto the tool if in doubt DO NOT PLUG IN THE TOOL Using a power source with voltage less than the name plate rating is harmful to the motor ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES 1 Hold the tool firmly 2 Do not leave the too running Operate the tool only when hand held 3 This tool has not been waterproofed so do not use water on the workpiece surface SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Attaching abrasive paper CAUTION Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before installing or removing the paper Raise the lever Insert the paper end into the clamper aligning the paper edges even and parallel with the sides of the base Prebending the paper makes attachment easier Once the paper is in place return the lever to its original position Repeat the same process for the other end of the base maintaining the proper paper tension CAUTION After inserting the paper make sure the teeth of the clamper hold it securely Otherwise the paper will be loose and subject to slippage resulting in uneven sanding operation Punch plate standard equipment for Model BO4550 optional accessory for Model BO45502Z Whe
