Eleche ores Coronet Prefinished Loudspeaker Enclosure Kit ELECTROVOTCE INC BUCHANAN MICHIGAN Coronet Prefinished Enclosure Kit Assembly Instructions 69 Twenty minutes from now if your manual dexterity is about assembly steps are completed place a mark in the box E average you can be listening to high fidelity music exquis to signify that this step has been completed itely reproduced on your new Coronet loudspeaker system O Place the speaker baffle on rug with the grille cloth face Best of all your new system will be comparable in every non way to the finest furniture in your home and you ll con struct the entire system without tools simply by following the instructions on this sheet No additional hardware or finishing materials are required to make your Coronet an object of admiration and enjoyment in your listening room The panels of this kit are prefinished the kit should there fore be assembled upon a soft clean fairly thick cloth such as a towel or rug Make certain there are no solid objects such as nuts screws or pieces of wire in the nap of the ng cloth or under it as this may scratch or dent the finish It is suggested that the complete panel assembly sequences first be performed without using the gasket material sup plied This will familiarize the assembler with correct panel U Insert the tongue of the cardboard duct into the slots placement The front panel and baffie may be oriented to
4. ichigan Figure 8A Prepare the opposite end of the wire as shown in figure 8A dividing the strands of wire on the bare end of the red striped lead into two egual groups Wrap the divided strands around a machine screw close to the head and secure in place by twisting the strands together Prepare the other lead in the same manner Slip point of screw holding red striped wire through a flat washer and insert through small hole in back panel labeled TI Secure to back panel with small hex nut as tightly as possible with fingers Slip another flat washer over the projecting screw and thread a wing nut to it Repeat with the black striped wire and the hole labeled T2 Check wiring to be certain that it is secure Figure 9 Line the grooves of the bottom panel with gasket tape in the same manner as shown in the Figure 4 step Carefully align the grooves with the front back and side tongues The holes in the counter bores of the bot tom panels must be lined up with the rods The rods may be bent gently by hand if they are misaligned Press the bottom into place and turn the remaining wing nuts onto the rods Strike the bottom panel with the hand Figure 9 while tightening the wing nuts thus seating the panels fully 0 Place the four round felt feet at the corners on the bot tom face pressing firmly into place 0 Press the small round plug button into the hole in the center of the back panel This plug may be removed at a future da
5. te to provide for mounting a level control should it be desired to expand to a two way system D The nameplate placement is left to the discretion of the assembler but it is suggested that it be placed on the grille cloth panel in a lower outside corner approxi mately 4 from the edges To affix nameplate to unit peel backing sheet and press nameplate into desired position Litho in U S A
6. ur rods into thread inserts as far as they will go with finger pressure From this point until assembly is completed the unit will remain upside down on the rug Do not confuse the top panel which is on the rug with the bottom panel which is the last to be installed D At this point of assembly there will be extensive use made of the foamed plastic gasket material This mater ial is supplied not necessarily to prevent enclosure air leakage but to act as a joint filler and tightener to pre vent rattling of panels against each other See Figure 4 The tape may be cut to the required length and the backing removed to bare the adhesive face The cor rugated backing may be removed quickly by inserting a fork tine nail or other pointed object into one of the loops to loosen it Press gasket tape which has been cut to length firmly along the grooves of the top panel at the back edge as shown in Figure 4 Figure 4A O Align the back panel with the groove Figure 4A and press firmly into place Line the grooves of both side panels with gasket tape Determine whether the grille cloth on the front panel should be toward the left or right side of the finished enclosure Because the enclosure is presently inverted remember that left and right are reversed Position the side panel which is to receive the grille cloth refer to Figure 6 in groove of top panel and press into place 69 ELECTRO VOICE INC J Buchanan M
