Double click the name of the device for which you are installing the driver Click the Driver tab and click Update Driver Click Install from a list or specific location Advanced and click Next Click Browse and browse to the location to which you previously copied the driver files When the name of the appropriate driver appears click Next Click Finish and restart your computer Resolving Software and Hardware Incompatibilities If a device is either not detected during the operating system setup or is detected but incorrectly configured you can use the Hardware Troubleshooter to resolve the incompatibility To start the Hardware Troubleshooter 1 2 3 4 Click the Start button and click Help and Support Type hardware troubleshooter in the Search field and click the arrow to start the search Click Hardware Troubleshooter in the Search Results list In the Hardware Troubleshooter list click I need to resolve a hardware conflict on my computer and click Next Restoring Your Operating System You can restore your operating system in the following ways Microsoft Windows XP System Restore returns your computer to an earlier operating state without affecting data files Use System Restore as the first solution for restoring your operating system and preserving data files Dell PC Restore by Symantec restores your hard drive to the operating state it was in when you purchased the computer Dell PC Restore permanently

ExpressCards are generally marked with a symbol such as a triangle or an arrow or a label to indicate which end to insert into the slot The cards are keyed to prevent incorrect insertion If card orientation is not clear see the documentation that came with the card CAUTION Before you begin any of the procedures in this section follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide To install an ExpressCard 1 Hold the card with the top side of the card facing up The latch may need to be in the in position before you insert the card 2 Slide the card into the slot until the card is completely seated in its connector If you encounter too much resistance do not force the card Check the card orientation and try again Using ExpressCards 47 48 1 ExpressCard or blank 2 ExpressCard release latch The computer recognizes the ExpressCard and automatically loads the appropriate device driver If the configuration program tells you to load the manufacturer s drivers use the floppy disk or CD that came with the ExpressCard Removing an ExpressCard or Blank o NOTICE Use the ExpressCard configuration utility click the L2 icon in the taskbar to select a card and stop it from functioning before you remove it from the computer If you do not stop the card in the configuration utility you could lose data AN CAUTION Before you begin any of the procedures in this section follow the safety instructions in the
