12. download to install the update on your system Run the command line interface Check the inband SAS address Enter the following command line to get the inband SAS address cmd gt xflash i get avail where i selects the interface is the inband SAS address get queries data from the targeted expander chip avail lists expanders available to the selected interface Check the expander chip firmware version Enter the following command line to view the expander chip firmware version cmd gt xflash i SASADDR get ver 0 where i selects the interface is the inband SAS address SASADDR is the inband SAS address of the specified expander chip get queries data from the targeted expander chip ver REGION display the version of firmware in a flash region If specified REGION refers to any expander flash region 0 to 9 If not specified displays the version of the active firmware region For example the command line should have the following format cmd gt xflash i 500650b0000472bf get ver 0 Troubleshooting Using the Expander Flash Utility Expander Flash Utility Xflash is a command line utility that you can use to identify the SAS address of the SAS expander determine the expander firmware version reset the SAS expander or update the two SAS expander chips simultaneously or separately Hardware and Software Requirements Xflash runs on the following platforms Double wide or single wide compute sled with
