2. air before servicing Do not attempt to change chisels disassemble or service tool with air hose attached 2 Use only specified operating air pressure Never operate tool above the specified operating air pressure range 3 Do not use combustible gases Do not use combustible gases as a power source or use tool in areas where combustible gases are stored 4 Avoid possible kickback injury Hold the tool with both hands during operation so that your head and body are not injured by possible kickback of the tool 5 Use care when transporting tool Disconnect tool from air supply when moving tool in the workplace Carry tool only by the handle without drawing the trigger 6 OSHA Guidelines Industrial applications must follow OSHA guidelines 7 Air Compressor Read and adhere to all warnings and instructions in the Air Compressor Instruction Manual A Warning The warnings cautions and instructions discussed in this in struction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product but must be supplied by the operator Unpacking When unpacking check to make sure that all the parts are included Refer to the Assembly Drawing and Parts List at the end of this manual If any parts are missing or broken please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual SKU 92
3. to the photo on the next page 3 Insert the 10 mm Chisel shank into the Cylinder 14 4 Screw in the Retainer Spring completely onto the threads of the Cylinder 14 until it stops to solidly hold the Chisel in place SKU 92037 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 5 Pointed Chisel Cylinder 14 Regulator 4 Air Inlet 9 Chiseling Operation A Warning Do not operate the Air Hammer unless the Retainer Spring 15 is screwed completely onto the Cylinder 14 Otherwise the chisel could fly out of the Cylinder causing injury 1 2 Set the 1 5 HP minimum air compressor pressure regulator to 90 PSI Connect the compressor air hose minimum 3 8 D to the Air Inlet 9 on the handle of the Air Hammer If an oiler is not used add a few drops of pneumatic tool oil into the Air Inlet 9 before connecting the air hose If any air is leaking after the connection disconnect the air hose and repair the leak Put on the impact safety glasses full face shield and ear plugs While holding the Air Hammer with both hands squeeze the Trigger 16 to begin chiseling Let the Air Hammer do the work Do not lay into the Air Hammer with great force If necessary turn the Regulator 4 to adjust the air flow within the Air Hammer When finished chiseling release the Trigger 16 and remove the air supply hose Place the chisel against a piece of scrap and squeeze the Trigger again to
4. 037 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 4 Assembly The Air Hammer comes completely assembled except for any air inlet fittings Note Use pipe thread seal or Teflon tape on all threaded connections Air Connection 1 Attach a 1 4 NPT plug not supplied into the Air Inlet 9 fitting A fitting is necessary before a connection can be made to an Air Compressor 2 For easy connection or removal attach an Air Quick Coupler not supplied hose on the compressor 3 Retighten all couplings and fittings Oiler and Filter Connection Dirt water and the lack of pneumatic tool oil are major causes for tool wear Install an optional oiler filter as illustrated below for better performance Connect the air tool air hoses filter and oiler to the Compressor Air Outlet as illustrated below The filter and oiler not supplied are recommended but not mandatory for operation If the filter and oiler are not used connect the air hose directly to the 1 4 inch 18 NPT connector located at the Air Inlet 9 fitting Also a few drops of pneumatic tool oil must be added through the air line before each use Quick Quick Quick Oiler __ Filter Connector Coupler Connector be Air Are Compressor LR l l Quick Regulator Coupler Air Hose Operation Attach Chisel to Air Hammer 1 Remove air supply hose from the Air Hammer 2 Unscrew the Retainer Spring 15 from the Cylinder 14 Refer
