TV getting brighter and dim mer due to Macrovision copy guard protection contained on some DVD discs In IN mode the player will accept inputs from the above mentioned devices for broadcast on its onboard LCD I AV Signal Jacks screen and speakers Input signals are given precedence over any disc currently running on the player The player accepts input signals refer to item 2 fol lowing and provides output signals through the AV signal jacks Please note when installing the AV wires that the white wire is designated for the left speaker red wire for the right speaker and yellow wire for the video signal Correct installation at both ends will ensure proper video and au dio replication on the DVD player When IN is selected left on the INPUT SELECT switch the player is ready to accept signal inputs from an outside source When OUT is selected right data may be sent to a variety of devices in 28 DVD1500 5 Player Controls 5 2 INPUT SELECT Switch Moving this switch either left or right will dictate whether the player permits only input signals or only output signals When the INPUT SELECT switch is set to the left IN the player will accept AV signals from outside sources When set to the right OUT the player will output AV signals to outside devices See item1 for further details ra Q Important Once set to the IN position all player sound and video output will cease in preparation for the

9. entered in a pop up menu on the screen press the C button DVD1500 37 6 Remote Control Buttons ute key Pressing the MUTE key will activate your player s mute function While sound will cease on any played program normal video images will continue to be broadcast When the MUTE key is pressed a MUTE message will appear in the upper right hand corner of the viewing monitor To restore sound press the MUTE button once again an UNMUTE mes sage will then appear on screen 2 T SEARCH Key Dle nnl le fh os for DVD for VCD CD The above icons will appear on screen when you press the T SEARCH key This key is employed to execute a chapter search Press the up or down a or keys to scroll to your preference 3 PROGRAM Key The above icon will appear on screen when you press the PROGRAM key This key is used to set the play order of various chapters songs segments on an installed disc This function is only available for VCD and CD discs For playing back VCD VCD s playback control PBC function must be OFF see page 60 You can arrange and rearrange selec tions based on your own preference by scrolling up and down using the a or w keys 1 Random RND Songs segments are played in a computer selected random order 38 DVD1500 6 Remote Control Buttons 2 Programmed PRG Songs segments are played in a pre set order This order may be set by repeatedly entering

12. is located on the cover s reverse side Take care not to scratch or mar the screen with sharp objects Close the cover when the player is not in use 3 Press the OPEN 4 Button To Open the Internal CD Player Cover Do not press the OPEN 4 button during player operation During play first press the STOP m button to cease play and then open the CD cover Never look directly at the laser emitting device while the CD player cover is open Doing so could result in eye damage caused by the laser light To Next Page DVD1500 15 3 Quick Starting Guide 4 Inserting a DVD Disc Align the center of the DVD disc with the center hole of the DVD player Press gently down on the DVD to snap the disc into place Close the CD player cover Make sure that the laser emitting device is never bumped or contaminated by dust etc Try to keep the CD player cover closed as much as possible to seal internal components from outside contamination 5 Slide the Side Power Switch ON At the left side of the unit position the POWER slide switch to the ON OFF position This switch is spring loaded and will return to the center position after it is released Positioning the slide switch once again in the same direction will turn power OFF 16 DVD1500 3 Quick Starting Guide 6 Press the PLAY button on the player face In most cases the DVD already inserted into the player will begin playing automatically when power is turned on
