Refer to the companion BRONCHOSCOPE CLEANING GUIDE tor detailed cleaning information BRONCHOSCOPE DISINFECTION GUIDE for OES BF 40 Series Bronchofiberscopes WARNING This guide is only a summary of the steps necessary to properly disinfect your bronchoscope Be sure to follow the detailed steps outlined in the ENDOSCOPE REPROCESSING MANUAL that was included with your bronchoscope when purchased Suction Cleaning Adapter Fill basin with disinfectant Attach a suction cleaning adapter MAJ 222 to the previously cleaned bronchoscope Immerse completely in disinfectant solution Connect the suction cleaning adapter and syringe Inject air to remove disinfectant from the instrument suction channels then remove the broncho scope from the disinfectant 9 Turn the suction pump off Hold the control section with the openings pointing down and disconnect the suction cleaning adapter Single Use Suction Valve MAJ 209 Suction Cylinder Attach a syringe to the adapter Pull the plunger of the syringe to fill the instrument suction channels and channel cleaning adapter with disinfectant solution z Disconnect the suction cleaning adapter and immerse the broncho scope and adapter in sterile water Using a sterile lint free cloth thor oughly rinse and wipe all surfaces

While immersed detach the adapter from the bronchoscope Use a clean lint free cloth to wipe away any bub bles clinging to external surfaces To Suction Pump Soak all equipment according to the time and temperature recommended by the disinfectant manufacturer Use a timer to mea sure the exact contact time To Suction Pump Alcohol Connect suction cleaning adapter to bronchoscope and to a tube from a suction pump Aspirate water through channels for 30 seconds Remove from water and aspirate air through channels for 60 seconds Dry the bronchoscope and adapter with an NOMENCLATURE Universal Cord Single Use Biopsy Valve MAJ 210 i Instrument Suction Channel Port y EDE Control Section UP DOWN Angulation Control Lever Insertion Tube Bending Section alcohol moistened cloth Make sure that the equipment is completely dry prior to storage Light Guide e Venting Connector Distal Tip OLYMPUS Your Vision Our Future Immerse the bronchoscope s distal end in 70 alcohol and aspirate alcohol for 5 seconds Remove the distal end from the alcohol and aspirate air for 20 seconds Hold all parts of the endoscope when carrying Do not let the ends of the bronchoscope swing freely e Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during reprocessing e Autoclave all autoclavable accessories e Store the bronchosco
