1. 3 Proceed to create the printer object as a Public or Controlled Access printer Please refer to the appropriate N ovell documentation for instructions on creating N DPS M anager objects and the printer objects Notes The HP JETADMIN parameter of the AXIS 540 640 must be set to YES in order for the communication between the AXIS 540 640 and the N DPS Gateway to be enabled NDPS requires that you run N etW are 4 11 or higher During the creation of the printer object you must specify the IP address of the AXIS 540 640 To print using TCP IP Axis print server firmware 6 1 or later is required In order to print using IPX SPX Axis print server firmware 5 51 or later is needed Enter LPT1 as your printer port when prompted during the creation of the printer object NetWare Using N DPS over IPX Installing the AXIS 540 640 as a Public Access printer 1 M ake sure that the H P N D PS Gateway is configured to automatically create a public access printer 2 Connect the AXIS 540 640 to the N etWare network if it is not already connected Refer to Connecting the printer to the N work on page 7 for more information 3 Usethe AXIS NetPilot to set the H P_JETADMIN parameter of the AXIS 540 640 to YES TheH P_JETADMIN parameter must be set to enable communication between the AXIS 540 640 and the H P N DPS Gateway Please refer to U ing AXIS N amp Pilot on page 24 Please refer to the appropriate N ovell documentation

19. inting in W indows NT 3 5x environments you should use AXIS Print Monitor NetBIOS NetBEUI Printing using AXIS Print Monitor For peer to peer printing AXIS Print M onitor must be installed on all printing clients while it is only necessary to install it on the server for client server printing Install the AXIS Print M onitor software if you have not already doneso It is supplied on the AXIS OnlineCD It can also be downloaded from the AXIS WWW home page at http www axis com O nce installed the AXIS Print M onitor is automatically initialized on system start up Important As AXIS Print Monitor is an integral part of AXIS Print System you should N OT install an independent version of AXIS Print Monitor if AXIS Print System is already installed on your client To install a printer with the AXIS Print M onitor use the M icrosoft Add Printer W izard which is available in your W indows operating system The AXIS Print M onitor s built in H elp system describes in step by step fashion how to install your printers as N etBIO S N etBEUI LPR or Raw TCP IP printers If you need help start the AXIS Print M onitor H elp system from the AXIS U tilities folder or see the U ser s M anual Note As the AXIS 540 640 emulates the behavior of a local printer port you must select the Local Printer W indows 95 and W indows 98 My Computer W indows NT alternative when performing the instructions in the Add Printer W
