1. 1 8 2 8 3 8 4 4 5 4 6 4 7 2 8 2 9 2 o If more than one zone is operating when one of the zones reaches its safety cut off point only the zone which has reached its safety cut off point will switch off Hob guidelines o The first few times the hob top is used it may give off an acrid burning smell This smell will disappear completely with repeated use o The worktop is fitted with cooking areas of different diametre and power o The positions where the heat will radiate from are clearly marked on the hob top The saucepans must be positioned exactly on these zones for efficient heating to occur Pans should have the same diametre as the cooking zone that they are being used on o You should not use saucepans with rough bottoms as this can scratch the ceramic surface o Before use make sure that the bottoms of the saucepans are clean and dry o When cold the bottom of the pans should be slightly concave as they expand when hot and lie flat on the surface of the hob This will allow the heat to transfer more easily o The best thickness for the bottom of the pans is 2 3 mm of enamelled steel and 4 6 mm for stainless steel with sandwich type bottoms o If these rules are not followed then there will be a great loss of heat and energy Heat not absorbed by the saucepan will spread to the hob frame and surrounding cabinets o Preferably cover pans with a lid to permit cooking at a lower heat o2. 7. you must ensure that all of the cooking zones are switched off Press the minus button 3 until the zone reaches zero o The zone will switch off immediately Residual heat indicator o After a zone is switched off the corresponding cooking zone indicator will show a flashing letter H This means that the zone has not been switched off for over 35 minutes since last use Therefore it is more likely that the temperature of the zone is still hot enough to cause injury o After 35 minutes from the zone being switched off the letter H will go out o IMPORTANT The residual heat indicator will disappear if your mains supply is cut Locking the hob top o The whole hob top can be locked by pressing the safety lock button 5 whilst the appliance is turned on 12 13 o A neon above the safety lock button will light to show that the safety lock feature has been switched on o When the safety lock feature is activated it will disable any of the other buttons on the control panel o To disable the safety lock feature you should press the safety lock button 5 for a few seconds The safety lock neon will go out and you are then able to adjust the power of any zone on the hob top Safety cut off o If one or more of the cooking zones are accidentally left on a safety cut off will activate after a certain period of time The length of time depends on the power level that a zone or zones have been set on LEVEL TIME LIMIT hours
