R BEST RESULTS 1 Before use always preheat the appliance 2 For soft or liquid sandwich fillings use medium sliced bread Light or wheat bread may be used for the sandwiches 3 For added flavour use bacon dripping Brush the dripping on the outside of the bread A Flavoured butters may also be used 5 Suggested fillings for savoury sandwiches lettuce parsley mint cress stuffed olive halves onions tomatoes etc 6 A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outside makers toasted sandwiches crispier especially with fruit fillings 24 CARE AND CLEANING Always ensure that the appliance is switched off Remove the plug from the power outlet befo re cleaning and storing the appliance Allow the appliance to cool down WARNING Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning or moving the appliance Do not place the appliance or power cord in an automatic dishwasher Do not immerse the appliance or power cord in any liquids or spill any liquids on it Always wipe off spilled liquids immediately Do not pour or drip any liquids on the appliance or power cord Do not place the appliance on wet or damp surfaces When liquids are spilled on the appliance immediately unplug the appliance and dry the appliance to avoid risk of electric shock or fire For easy cleaning immediately after each use clean the appliance This way no leftovers will stick burn in or carbonise to the heating plates ATTENTION Abrasive and strong cleane
7. and heating elements of the appliance causing severe injuries to persons and serious damage DO NOT cook any high proof alcoholic liquid or alcoholic foodstuffs e g mulled wine grog on the appliance Do not pour any alcoho lic liquid on the appliance to avoid risk of explosion and fire Non stick coating The heating plates of your Design Sandwich Pro are provided with non stick coatings Even without using additional oil food will not stick to the coated surfaces Due to the toasted food some discolouration may occur However this will not affect the toasting performance Please adhere to the following precautions e Before first use wipe the non stick coatings of the heating plates with a little cooking oil Thereafter there is no need to add any further oil for toasting e Do not use the appliance if the non stick coating is scratched cracked or detached due to overheating e Only use wooden or heat resistant plastic cooking utensils with the appliance Do not use hard or sharp objects for scratching stirring or cutting on the coatings We will not be liable for damage to the non stick coating if metal utensils or similar objects have been used Do not use any spray on non stick coatings e The non stick coatings minimise the effort of cleaning Do not use abrasive scourers or ab rasive cleaners for cleaning Even stubborn residues can be removed via a soft sponge or soft nylon brush and warm dishwater TECHNICAL SPECIFI

10. ff spilled liquids Ensure that there is no foreign substance on the heating plates Close the lid Do not touch the exterior of the Design Sandwich Pro while the appliance is in use Always keep your hands face and arms as well as any clothing and other heatsensitive objects away from the sandwich maker during operation and only touch the handle or the temperature control Do not touch the heating plates Connect the appliance directly to a separately protected mains power supply wall socket with protective conductor earth ground 230 V 50 Hz AC rated for 16 A The red indicator light will turn on as soon as the plug is connected to the power outlet and the heating plates begin to heat 23 3 Your Design Sandwich Pro is now preheating After approx five minutes the green indicator light will be illuminated The appliance is now ready for use It is important that the heating plates are preheated and greased before the first use After finishing the first sandwich no more greasing is necessary Wipe the heating plates with a paper towel greased with oil 4 Open the lid and place the prepared sandwiches toast filling toast on the lower hea ting plates Close the lid carefully briefly press together and lock the handles Do not use any metallic objects for placing and removing the sandwiches The green indicator light will turn on and off during the toasting process the temperature is being controlled automatically Note Pay atten

19. tion while placing the sandwiches onto the heating plates The sandwiches should be in the middle of each toast form for easy closing and locking of the appliance WARNING While placing the sandwiches on the preheated heating plates oil or grease might spurt out Keep enough distance to the appliance during operation and do not touch the hot exterior or heating plates of the sandwich maker For opening the lid use the handle only Open the lid entirely and carefully to prevent the lid from falling WARNING The housing of the appliance is very hot Pay attention not to touch the housing 5 In case the filling of your sandwiches starts to ooze out remove the remains with a plastic or wooden scraper or a damp cloth Use less filling for the following sandwiches 6 The toasting time is in general 2 3 minutes depending on the nature of the sandwich the quantity as well as your preferences Check the consistency by lifting the lid shortly Remove the sandwiches when the desired consistency is reached ATTENTION To prevent damage to the non stick coating do not use any metal sharp or pointed objects to remove the food Use a heat proof plastic or wooden spatula Never cut or scratch on the heating plates with sharp edged cutlery This would damage the non stick coating 7 After removing the sandwiches clean the sandwich maker with a damp cloth to eliminate the remainders Next sandwiches can be placed now on the heating plates TIPS FO
